'53 Corvette

Description[]

The 1953 Corvette was a legend in the making. America's first true sport car evolved from an artist's sketch pad to production in 18 short months. It was the first car to utilize a fiberglass body and all 300 hand-built beauties were quickly sold. Those first models, like european sportscars, had no exterior door handles or roll-up windows, but its trademark grill, with 13 sparkling chrome teeth, had consumers smiling for years to come. The '53 had a 235 cu in (3.9 L), 150HP in-line 6 engine, the Chevrolet's BlueFlame.
