The '58 Corvette is a Hot Wheels casting based on the GM production car and was recreated in 1/64 scale by Hot Wheels designer Larry Wood. The coupe part of name when used though is inaccurate. It was not until 1963 that a Corvette came in a coupe version. You could though order a removeable hard top that fit into the convertible attachment points with the soft top stored under the cover. Larry created two versions for collectors, one version has a blown engine and the second version has an opening hood.
