Description[]
The Porsche 906, also known as the Carrera 6, was a Group 4 sports car produced by Porsche AG in 1966. Designed by Erwin Komenda, the car was based on the 904 and lightened by using a fiberglass body instead of steel. Powered by a 2.0L Typ 771 flat-6, the car was first raced at the 1966 24 Hours of Daytona, driven by Hans Herrmann and Herbert Linge, where it won its class and would go on to be successful. The car was further developed into the 910, which raced from the middle of 1966.
The initial livery of this casting is based on chassis 906-125, driven by Pauli Toivonen and Antti Aarnio-Wihuri for VW-Auto Oy in the 1966 World Sportscar Championship.
