Description[]
The Mercedes-Benz R107 and C107 were a series of sports cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1971 to 1989. Designed by Joseph Gallitzendörfer and Friedrich Geiger, the R107 and C107 acted as the successor to the W113 and were sold under the SL and SLC names. The 500 SLC was produced from 1980 to 1981 and was powered by a 5.0L M117 V8. A number of C107s were also taken racing, most notably in rally where they saw modest success. 300,175 R107 and C107s were produced; this was the second longest running series produced by Mercedes-Benz behind the G-Class.
