Description[]
The 1944 Willys MB is a Hot Wheels casting which debuted 2021 as an RLC Exclusive. It features a unique patented rock-crawling type suspension and a fold-down windshield. This casting was initially intended to be released in 2020, but was delayed to 2021.
The casting when originally previewed was named the 1944 Willys MB Rock Crawler. The casting is mounted on a unique injection-molded plastic rock formation. According to designer Brendon Vetuskey, the car's suspension is screwed onto the base; it is engineered so that it cannot be screwed fully out, although it can be screwed to different tolerances to provide different amounts of clearance. He also mentions that "this is as close to the limit that he can push for RLC models without Jimmy pulling all his hair out" and is one of the most expensive RLC models to produce. The suspension system was designed by Brendon Vetuskey and James Molina.
