Description
The 1998 Porsche Boxter is a Hot Wheels casting which debuted in the collector-aimed (100% Hot Wheels) Porsche 50th Anniversary 4-Car Set.
It is based on the real first-generation (1996-2003) Porsche Boxter which was the first Porsche to be originally designed as a roadster since the Porsche 550 Spyder in 1953. It could go from 0 to 60mph in 7.4 seconds and had a top speed of 146mph (235kph).
The Hot Wheels version was only used twice before being discontinued and unusually does not have any movable parts.

Description for 2000 Release
To produce an instant classic, Porsche designers borrowed lines from the legendary 550 Spyder in creating the stunning Boxster. To deliver the high performance that the name Porsche promises, a DOHC 24-valve, flat-6 cylinder engine was chosen and placed on the chassis just behind the seats. This perfect combination of horsepower, weight distribution and superior suspension makes the car handle like it's on rails and puts the Boxster on track to become one of the most popular Porsches ever.
