Description[]
The BMW M3 GTR is a grand touring race car manufactured by BMW M Motorsport for using in endurance racing. Introduced in February 2001 and designed by Ulf Wiedhase, the BMW M3 GTR was powered by a 4.0L P60 V8 mated to a 6-speed manual. The car won the 2001 American Le Mans Series and was subject to protests by other competitors alleging it was a prototype; changing regulations meant the car was ultimately withdrawn from the ALMS but the car continued to compete in other series until 2005. The car has since become one of the most iconic race cars of all time.
The base of the casting reads '01 BMW M3 GTR.
