In 2003, Hot Wheels released three 2-car sets celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Corvette. These box-sets used the '100% Hot Wheels' castings which were very detailed and featured 'Real Rider' wheels and opening hoods.

Although styling initially established the Corvette, it was the constant evolution of technology and performance that put the sports car on par with the elite Europeans. Innovation that could be described in two words - fuel injection. In 1957, an enlarged 283cid small-block engine with Ramjet fuel injection boosted 'Vette horsepower to 283. It was only the second time a Detroit V8 reached the one-horsepower-per-cubic-inch milestone. A 4-speed manual transmission also debuted that year. Performance rapidly advanced throughout the next two decades. 1982 marked the end of a body style that was envied for sixteen years but introduced an innovative drive train that included Cross-Fire fuel injection, for the next generation of Corvette body styles. 100% Hot Wheels showcases these two famous 'fuelie' models as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of America's superior sports car... the Corvette!
