Description[]
The Abarth 3000 Sport Prototipo was a sports prototype racer produced by Abarth & C. S.p.A. in 1968 for use in Group 5 competition. Designed by Mario Colucci, the 3000 SP was the first Abarth to have a displacement over 2 liters, being powered by a 3.0L V8 mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The car was moderately successful, grabbing podiums and even the occasional win. Development ceased after 1971 after Carlo Abarth sold Abarth to Fiat. About three chassis were produced.
This model features an opening engine cover and scissor doors. This model was created specifically for the Gran Toros line and was not featured in any of the original Mebetoys lineups.
