Description[]
Auto-City is an international series that first debuted in 1994. It consisted of models previously used by Corgi Toys packaged or retooled with a Corgi or Hot Wheels logo on their baseplates after Mattel acquired the brand and assets. Factories were moved from Great Britain to China. This series was commonly available in Europe, Canada, Australia, and many other countries outside the United States. Castings that debuted in this series went on to be used in Auto-City Action Squad, Hot Wheels World, and many other series. An adapter was later made to connect Auto-City playsets to the Street Traxx system and was available by mail-in.
Included on this page will only be the “Hot Wheels Auto-City” (1994) packaging variations.
Some of these castings never received names from Hot Wheels. Names given by Corgi Toys will be used to refer to these models.
Two lines of 1:43 scale Corgi models were later released under Hot Wheels branding. For information on those lines, see Corgi Collection (1995) and Turbos Collection (1996). variations.
