Description[]

The BMW i8 is a plug-in hybrid sports car manufactured by BMW from 2014 to 2020. Designed by Richard Kim and Benoit Jacob and originally introduced in 2011 as the Concept Vision EfficientDynamics, the i8 was BMW's first sports car manufactured under the BMW i sub brand. It is powered by a 1.5L B38K15T0 turbocharged inline-3 assisted by a lithium ion battery, mated to an Aisin F21-360 FT EOP 6-speed automatic; the car produces 369 horsepower. A roadster version, dubbed the i8 Roadster, was introduced in 2018; this version has a retractable metal roof and only has two seats. 3,884 were produced.
