This car is a Prototype from the Larry Wood Collection

The Baja Bug was suppose to appear in the Super Changers lineup in 1990, a series of cars that could interchange with different wheels and motors to have better racing results. The Super Changers line did not last though as only a few castings appeared before it discounted due to lack of sales. Had the series continued for another year, it is possible that the Baja Bug would've made an appearance in production.

Instead, all that is left is this resin prototype and a Certificate of Authenticity from Larry Wood himself suggesting that this model was to appear in the the Super Changers series.
