The Bloomingdale's Fabulous '57s set was sold exclusively at Bloomingdale's department stores. 300 sets made in Malaysia, produced in 1996. There was also 6 Tbirds made in these sets that came with a Silver metallic top with an Orange Metallic body. Very rare car to find. Among these sets. Some regard these 6 cars as Holy Grail cars!!! Good luck finding one.
The production of these cars came with an issue. Bloomingdale's actually was ordering 24k Gold Plated cars. By accident they made the cars you are currently seeing. Hotwheels thought Bloomingdale's didn't want the order. And Hotwheels decided to gift out the sets to employees. Bloomingdale's found out these cars were being given away, and requested for the remaining sets to be delivered. Those remaining were sold in stores and eventually found there way into collectors homes. This is a great set to collect.
