During the '50s and '60s, Detroit's legendary Woodward Avenue was the "unofficial" test track for the owners of Motown's most muscular cars. Technology would roll off the assembly lines and right onto the streets, where gear heads would cruise on summer nights, looking for the next quarter mile challenge, or for the prettiest girl at the hamburger stand.

Well, those good ol' days are back! Since its inception in 1995, the organizers of the Woodward Avenue Dream Cruise have invited custom car and hot rod owners - and their fans - to a trip back in time by returning to the scene of their youth. The response has been overwhelming! Last summer, several hundred thousand enthusiasts traveled to Detroit for this annual weekend-long celebration of automotive dreams.

Car Craft magazine pays tribute to the Dream Cruise with this Hot Wheels Collectibles 2-car set - in which automotive dreams and reality become one.
