'Woody' Wagons are a sub-category of Station wagons and the oldest station wagons typically fall into this category. A 'Woody' wagon is a station wagon/Estate car with decorative woodworking or in some early examples, the bodywork of the cab being made from wood. The 'Woody look continued right up until the 1990s with faux-wood panels being added onto the bodies of station wagons. 'Woody' Wagons are the classical station wagons, with the last true 'woodies' being made in the 1950s, before the advent of plastic panels with imitation woodgrain.
