After Mattel acquired the Corgi Toys Ltd. brand and assets in 1989, the decision was made to integrate a variety of toolings into the Hot Wheels range starting with Auto-City in 1994. The first 1:43 scale range was released in 1995 shortly thereafter; the Corgi Collection.
All models from this line were previously released under the Corgi brand name in different styles of packaging.
