During an unmatched 32-year racing career, Don “The Snake” Prudhomme was the embodiment of excellence and achievement. In 1965, Don won the first NHRA race he entered and was subsequently nicknamed “The Snake” for his quick reaction time off the starting line. His 49 National Hot Rod Association victories make “The Snake” one of the most successful drag racers in history. He was the first four-time champion, the first Funny Car driver to run the quarter-mile in under 5.20 seconds and the first to break 250 mph.
