Description[]
The Ferrari F40 Competizione is an unrestricted version of the F40 LM introduced in 1989, in turn a racing version of the Ferrari F40 designed for a customer request. The F40 Competizone uses a more powerful 2.9L F120B twin-turbocharged V8 producing nearly 691 horsepower mated to a 5-speed manual, with a reported top speed of 228 mph (367 km/h). Ten chassis were built; the first two cars were designated "F40 LM" while the remaining eight chassis were given the Competizione moniker as they felt the LM moniker was "too restrictive".

Originally intended to race at Le Mans, the Ferrari F-40 Competizione was a much more powerful version of the F40 LM. Its reinforced chassis, 720bhp engine, racing gearbox, and other gains made it a prized possession for private collectors. A total of 8-10 vehicles were manufactured, making it a true rarity.
