These were an international-only release and were not distributed in the US. They were available in Canada (Toys "R" Us and Sears), the United Kingdom and Germany. The same casting was used for all the different teams.
The F1 X-V Racers were sold individually and in a Grand Prix track set, similar to the NASCAR Superspeedway track. The pit sections are the same as those found in the NASCAR sets, but the length of the F1 cars meant they got caught up in the pits and often needed some help to get out.
The vehicle chassis is too large to charge on a regular X-V Racers charger, so these chargers are designed with the chassis support farther away from the contacts (see Gallery below). The F1 chargers also have a raised outline of an F1 racer on the charger surface (see Gallery).
