The Forza Motorsport Series features 6 different models that first showed up in New Zealand retail stores in June 2017 to celebrate the debut of the Hot Wheels Expansion into the Xbox One/Windows 10 racing game Forza Horizon 3 (even though only four of the nine cars added are actual models designed by Hot Wheels: 1969 Twin Mill, 2011 Bone Shaker, 2012 Rip Rod, and 2005 Ford Mustang).
In the United States, the series was a "Walmart exclusive", meaning none of the big box retail stores were able to order them.
The first US-based cases appeared in late May 2017. None of the Hot Wheels models from Forza Horizon 3 appear in this series. Also, none of these six cars are an exact representation of an in-game car (which was the case with the 2016 Gran Turismo series). Hot Wheels also previously came out with a 2016 Replica Entertainment 5-Car Premium Set.
