Gary Michael Saffer was a Hot Wheels designer who worked for Mattel from 1975 to 2001. After his stint at Mattel, Saffer went into self-employment and worked together with Elonne, his wife, also a toy designer, to design items for patents and other concepts. He passed away in 2022.
