Description[]
Hako Type D is a two-door retro-realistic depiction of a 1980s Japanese-style coupe. The vehicle is inspired by various period-correct Japanese vehicles, such as the Toyota AE86 and Supra, Mazda RX-7 and Nissan Silvia.
This was Bryan Zhao's first Hot Wheels design since returning to Mattel full-time. The casting was originally named Supotsuka FR; its name was changed due to it being "too hard to read". The word "supotsuka" is a corruption of "sports car".
