Description[]
The High Frequency is a Shift Kickers model; it was the only of the three Shift Kickers castings to not be based on a real car. The selling point of the cars was their "stick shift" action; each of the cars had a comically oversized shifter which sort of acted as a handbrake. Pulling back the handle locks the wheels in place and makes the car unable to move; pushing the handle forwards allows the car to go.
As with all of the Shift Kickers models, the casting was actually repurposed from an old Scorchers casting; it was known as the Blue Fever in its Scorchers guise.
The casting was used twice and was discontinued in 1984 with the entire Shift Kickers line; it was also available in the sole playset designed for the Shift Kickers, the Leap of Flame playset.
