Hot Wheels: AcceleRacers was a computer-animated series of four films (Ignition, The Speed of Silence, Breaking Point, The Ultimate Race) created by Mainframe Entertainment in partnership with Mattel Entertainment. First aired on Cartoon Network, the AcceleRacers film series debuted on 8 January 2005. A scrapped character named “Nick Leusky” of “Beatnick Designs” was featured in concept artwork as a reference to the Beatnik Bandit.
The '70 Plymouth Roadrunner, '55 Nomad, 1997 Lincoln Continental, NightLife, Jaw Jammer, Magnesium, RD-07, BMW 2002, Kamikaze “Ghost” Semi, and Old Smokey never received proper 1/64 scale releases or versions with accurate liveries.
Plot[]
The film took place two years after the events of the Hot Wheels: World Race film and followed Dr. Peter Tezla, biological son of Nikola Tesla, and his continued research into an ancient race of aliens called the Accelerons[1]. After new discoveries and struggles over the Wheel of Power, he recruited several Teku[2] and Metal Maniacs[3] racing gang members alongside former World Race drivers for competition against a violent Racing Drone[4] army and unknown Silencerz[5] squadron in an attempt to obtain and protect as many Accele-Charger[6] artifacts from inter-dimensional Racing Realms possible.
