From Mattel's gaming app service "Apptivity" (pronounced App-tivity), a line of Hot Wheels was produced for the game. These 1/64 castings had several buttons on the bottom called "Retractable Touch Points" that were used to control the in-game car with the physical diecast. As the name insinuates, pressing the center white button on the bottom retracts the touch points inside the body of the car itself, allowing for use of these cars on track layouts. The app, called Mattel Apptivity, was available for free only on the Apple App Store until it was cancelled in late 2013-early 2014. Contrary to popular belief, these castings had no electronic components.
All castings from this line were exclusive, and some featured Team Hot Wheels themed liveries.
This line was available in Apple stores and select other retailers, and the Mattel Apptivity app itself was only available for iPad devices on the Apple App Store.
