Description[]
Following Jaguar's withdrawal from racing in 1956, some partially completed Jaguar D-Type race cars were converted into road-going cars and named the Jaguar XKSS. After a fire destroyed the Jaguar factory, only 16 of the planned 25 cars were ever sold and are now very desirable collectors items. One notable owner was actor and car fanatic, Steve McQueen who nicknamed his car the 'Green Rat'. In 2016 Jaguar made a limited batch of 'continuation' XKSS, built to the original blueprints.
The Hot Wheels version was only released once in the 1999 Jaguar Classic Sportscar 4-Car Set. It featured a front-hinged opening hood which displayed its engine.
