Description

The Lamborghini Veneno is a hypercar made by Italian manufacturer Lamborghini. The Veneno was introduced as a coupe at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show on March 5th. This Lamborghini celebrates the 50-years anniversary of Automobili Lamborghini. The name came from—according to the old Lamborghini tradition—a Spanish Fighting Bull, named Veneno who was killed in 1914 during a bullfight by the torero José Sánchez Rodríguez in the Arena of Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

The Veneno is based on the Aventador, whose 6.5 L twelve-cylinder engine with a power increase of 37 kW (50 hp) is used. Thus, the Veneno delivers 552 kW (751 hp). Thanks to the use of carbon fiber and lightweight components, the weight of the Aventador can be reduced by 125 kg (276 pounds) to 1,450 kg (3,197 pounds). As a result, the power-to-weight ratio is 1.93 kg/hp (4.25 lbs/hp). The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) is reached in 2.5 seconds and the maximum speed is 355 km/h (221 mph). Only four Venenos will be made, of which one will be included in the Lamborghini museum. The Veneno costs €3 million (US$ 3.17 million).

There are a total of four specimens of the car. Lamborghini kept one himself, so that only three were ever for sale. They are all painted dark grey and have accents on the wheels and the diffusers in a different color. The three colors of the Italian flag were chosen as colors: red, green and white. The first, the Red, belongs to the owner of Lamborghini Long Island. The second, the Green one, belongs to an American businessman from Miami, who has other rare cars such as the Pagani Huayra "La Monza Lisa" and a 50th Anniversary Aventador Roadster. The owner of the last, White, Veneno is a business man from Bavaria.
