Description[]
The Boeing Lunar Roving Vehicle is a battery-powered manned rover designed by Ferenc Pavlics and used during the Apollo missions from 1971 to 1972. The vehicle had a top speed of some 8 mph (13 km/h). Four flight-ready rovers were produced, although only three were sent to the moon; all three were driven an average of 19 miles (30 km) without much incident. All three flight-ready rovers remain on the moon, all left in different places, with the only rovers on display being test vehicles, mockups and the like.
