Description[]
The MG Metro 6R4 (6-Cylinder, Rally, 4-Wheel Drive) is a racing version of the Austin Metro, prepared for Group B racing. Powered by a Rover V64V 3.0L V6, the Metro 6R4 effectively only shared a superficial resemblance with its the car it took its name from as the racing version was a mid-engined all-wheel drive vehicle. The car was moderately successful in competition but due to the banning of Group B on the grounds of safety the car had a short-lived career in its intended series; it then moved to other racing series. About 205 road-going versions were built for homologation purposes.
The initial livery is a replica of Didier Auriol and Bernard Ocelli's car with a different number. In development this casting was named the '86 MG Metro 6R4.
