Description

The Mad Manga (Japanese: 狂った漫画) is styled with the Japanese bōsōzoku (Japanese: 暴走族 meaning 'violent running gang') custom style, which features over-sized fender fairings, slanted head and tail lights, the "shark nose", huge air dam and exaggerated exhaust pipes.

It has been suggested that this casting is based on a second generation Nissan Laurel 2000SGX hardtop; the 'butaketsu' (Japanese:ブタケツ) or "pig's butt". This is based on the design of the rear of the car and the b-pillar on the casting. A resemblance to the Nissan Skyline C110 "Kenmeri" car can also be argued by the discernible coke-bottle shape under all that bosozoku-styled excess. But the truth is that, despite being inspired by many classic custom Japanese cars, this is an entirely in-house Hot Wheels design, not based on (or licensed from) any Japanese vehicles.
