The Mazda RX-3 is a rotary-engined automobile sold by Mazda from 1971 to 1978, it essentially being a rotary-engined version of the Grand Familia, which was largely identical in appearance. The RX-3 was available in sedan, coupe and wagon styles, with the wagon being known as the RX-3 Sports Wagon. The RX-3 Sports Wagon was the world's first rotary-engined wagon and was sold from 1972 to 1976; production of all RX-3s ended in 1978 to make way for the RX-7. The RX-3 was the most successful and popular of all of Mazda's pre-RX-7 rotary models.
