Description[]
The McLaren M6GT is a sports prototype racing car designed and developed by McLaren to compete in endurance racing. Designed by Bruce McLaren, Robin Herd, Gordon Coppuck, Tyler Alexander and Don Beresford, the M6GT was based on the M6A but featured a closed cockpit. The car was powered by a 5.7L Chevrolet LT1 V8, similar to the M6A and other McLaren models of the time. Intended to be homologated for Group 4, homologation was never completed and as a result the M6GT never raced; two were later converted to road cars, one of which being Bruce McLaren's personal vehicle. 4 chassis were produced.
The base of the casting reads McLaren M6 GT. This casting features an opening rear hatch.
