Description[]

The Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR is a racing sports car produced by Mercedes-Benz in 1955. Designed by Rudolf Uhlenhaut, the 300 SLR was homologated for use in endurance racing, specifically in the World Sportscar Championship. It was powered by a 3.0L M196S inline-6 mated to a 5-speed manual; the cars were effectively road legal race cars, superficially resembling the 300 SL road car with their styling. The car won on its debut at the 1955 Mille Miglia, although its racing career was cut short following the 1955 Le Mans disaster and Mercedes-Benz's ensuing withdrawal from all forms of racing. Nine chassis were produced.

The initial release is based on 300 SLR chassis 00004/55, driven by Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson to victory at the 1955 Mille Miglia.
