Description[]

The Mercedes-Benz 500 E was a high-performance version of the Mercedes-Benz W124 built jointly by Daimler and Porsche. The W124 was redesigned by Porsche engineers to fit the 5.0L M119 V8 into the car as Mercedes-Benz's engineering team was too focused on the development of the W140 S-Class at the time. The car was produced from 1991 to 1994. 10,479 were produced.

The casting is based on the 500 E with aftermarket modifications, such as a twin wedge front splitter and a ducktail spoiler. It also features asymmetrical side mirrors that are consistent with the actual model, although this feature has never been depicted on any card artwork since its initial release.

Born: 1990, Sindelfingen and Zuffenhausen, Germany
Designer: Mercedes-Benz
The 500 E might appear to be an elegant, yet ordinary, sedan but there is nothing ordinary about it. Hand built in limited numbers, it is equipped with a sports car brake system and a naturally aspirated 5.0L M 119 V8 giving it a top speed of 161 mph. Truly "a wolf in sheep's clothing."
