Friendship 7 is the designation of the spacecraft used in Mercury-Atlas 6, the first crewed American orbital spaceflight. Designed by Max Faget, Friendship 7 was manufactured by the McDonnell Aircraft Corporation and was the thirteenth of the Mercury spacecraft. The mission was successful, with Friendship 7 later taken on a large publicity tour by NASA. Friendship 7 now resides at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia.
