The Hot Wheels Monster Jam license was a long-standing partnership between Mattel’s Hot Wheels brand and Monster Jam, the premier monster truck entertainment series. Through this collaboration, which began in 2000 and lasted until 2018, Hot Wheels produced a wide range of officially licensed Monster Jam products, including:
- Monster Trucks (primarily in 1:64, 1:43 and 1:24 scales)
- Playsets featuring stunt tracks, ramps, and arenas
- Feature Vehicles with special designs and moving parts
- Accessories and collectibles inspired by Monster Jam events
During the partnership, Hot Wheels replicated many of the most iconic trucks from the Monster Jam circuit while also creating original designs known as "Hot Wheels Originals." Some of these originals remained exclusive to the toy line, while others were later brought to life as real Monster Jam trucks.
The license allowed Hot Wheels to play a significant role in shaping the Monster Jam brand, with Mattel designers contributing creative truck designs and concepts. The toys became highly collectible, especially in the 1:64 scale, which remains a fan favorite.
In 2018, the partnership between Hot Wheels and Monster Jam ended, and the license transitioned to Spin Master, which now produces official Monster Jam products. However, Hot Wheels continues to release monster truck toys under their own Hot Wheels Monster Trucks line, featuring both original designs and new concepts.
1/87 Scale Monster Trucks[]
In 2003 a series of small scale Monster Jam trucks came out in the Speed Demons series. These are pull back powered plastic trucks. The series includes various designs and variations, which can be explored in more detail HERE
In 2013 a series of small scale Monster Jam trucks came out in the Monster Jam Mighty Minis series. They do not use the same castings as those in the Speed Demons series. Each truck comes with a key, and pressing the buttons on its sides launches the Mini Monster Truck.

These are 1/64 scale diecast trucks. Originally made with "smaller wheels", diecast body, and diecast chassis. Current versions have larger wheels, diecast body and a plastic chassis.
