Description[]
Optimus Prime is the main protagonist of the Transformers franchise, the supreme commander of the heroic Autobots in the fight against the evil forces of the Decepticons. He is a Cybertronian, a species of self-configuring modular lifeforms capable of transforming into vehicles or other things. His vehicle mode most resembles a simplified version of a Freightliner FLT-9664-T.
This is a faithful depiction of Optimus Prime's original 1984 toy incarnation, downsized to 1/64 scale while maintaining the ability to transform. His fists and Ion Blaster weapon are included as separate pieces; while in vehicle mode his fists are stored in his cab, with the front windshield pivoting to allow for storage of his fists. Two cavities are present in the headlights which the fists fit in when the vehicle is transformed. Some modifications were made to the model to allow it to retain its transformation ability at this scale.
Graphics for this model were done by Design Manager Dwayne Vance. Packaging was done by Julian Koiles.
