Description[]
This is an Unproduced Prototype found from the Larry Wood collection. The name is based on the name given on the Certificate of Authenticity. This casting should not be confused with the 1998 Porsche Boxster as that casting is a 100% casting with multiple differences from this casting.
This casting appears (in Silver) in a 1996 Poster only in the Top view among the other 1996 First Editions Prototypes that track the trim of the poster. Oddly this is the only car to appear on the Track, but not featured in the 1996 First Editions section of the Poster. It was replaced with Volkswagen Drag Bus, Road Rocket or the Ferrari F50.
- Its noticeable on the poster that the Ferrari F50 does not use a Prototype or an Artist Drawing in it's spot, but rather an image of a Real Ferrari F50. Perhaps its because within the last second, the Ferrari F50 replaced the Porsche Boxster. A European sports car for a European sports car trade off.
- Or considering that the Volkswagen Drag Bus is a German vehicle, they replaced the Porsche Boxster with a more impressive vehicle. A German vehicle for a German vehicle trade off.
- Or they realized they had too many Licensed vehicles and used Road Rocket (which looked nearly complete in the poster) to replace the Porsche Boxster. So if you already don't like Road Rocket, you now have another reason.
