Description

The Power Pad is a casting which debuted in the 1970 Hot Wheels Lineup. It features an exposed 4-cylinder motor and white plastic camper. It was produced only in the USA and all Power Pads have clear glass and a black interior. It was produced in a small variety of Spectraflame colors with 'Light Blue' the rarest. The plastic camper is often missing and has been reproduced. It came packaged with either a metal or plastic 'collectors button'.

In 1975, the Power Pad was retooled without the exposed motor and camper and renamed the Sand Drifter.
