Description[]
Ready-to-Play was an entry-level product line manufactured by Lionel, LLC. Trains in this line are made of plastic and are powered by 6 "C"-sized Alkaline batteries. Trains in this line are approximately 1:24 scale; sets in the line usually come packaged with enough sections of plastic tracks to form a simple oval layout. Trains are scaled similarly in size to G scale trains but are not fully compatible with G scale tracks, with Ready-to-Play having its own proprietary gauge. Each set is advertised mainly as a starter set and being kid-friendly due to the locomotives's chunky design and plastic construction. This line appears to have since been discontinued in favor of battery-powered ready-to-run O scale sets.
Hot Wheels planned a sub-series in 2019. One known product was planned for this series but went unreleased; it is not known if further products were conceptualized.
