Renault 5 Turbo Blu

This is actually the second Hot Wheels version of Renault's popular hatchback (see Renault LeCar). This version differs from the LeCar in lacking a sunroof. The Hot Wheels is based on a second generation European-Specification, turbo-charged version of the Renault 5, known as the GT Turbo, hence the tampo. It can be identifed as a second generation by the presence of a body kit (wheel arch extensions, side skirts) and by the shape of the B pillar. The Renault 5 GT Turbo was Renault's response to the Peugeot 205 GTi, Volkswagen Golf GTI, Ford's XR3i and other similarly-built Hot Hatchbacks of the 1980s and early 1990s.

In 2013, Hot Wheels produced a true Renault 5 Turbo , the Turbo II with the rally-style wide bodykit . Like the Holden Commodore and Holden SS Commodore VT, this casting was released just as it's real-life counterpart was taken out of production in 1991.

The Renault 5 Turbo has come out in the following versions:
