Southern California was a hot-bed of creativity during the early days of street rods and custom cars. Young rebel builders were busy turning old junkers into molded metal dreams. The sounds of souped up engine erupted from backyard garages and cars were being raced everywhere from Van Nuys Boulevard to the Sunset Strip.
Perhaps the most popular cars to customize were Fords. They had great lines, parts were plentiful and they were easy and inexpensive to work on. The result was an outpouring of some of the coolest street rods in history.
Our Hot Wheels Street Rodder car set includes a classic '34 Roadster and a '47 Convertible proudly displayed in a Street Rodder Magazine setting.
