Team Hot Wheels was a multimedia series of toys, video games, books, movies, videos and real life events that took place throughout the years 2011 to 2017. It was undoubtedly the most notable and famous Hot Wheels related thing that came out in the 2010s and is an important part of Hot Wheels history as a whole. Generally in it's media, Team Hot Wheels was the name of four real life race car and stunt drivers that went by color names- Red Driver, Green Driver, Yellow Driver, and Blue Driver. (However sometimes they are depicted as not single individuals but as groups of drivers racing for there respective team colors) doing stunts such the Double Loop Dare and Fearless at the 500 as well as things in the Hot Wheels Test Facility. However the series is probably most well known for the vehicles they introduced to the greater franchise such as Baja Truck, Rip Rod and Loop Coupe to name a few.

Events[]

The video Inside The Test Facility serves as an introduction to the HWTF and Team Hot Wheels as a whole. It is the first known piece of Team Hot Wheels marketing as it was posted on May 3, 2011. It was originally seen on the ABC channel but was later uploaded on YouTube.

Fearless Jump — What was soon to be Baja Truck making the world record.

The Yellow driver, Tanner Foust, achieved the world record for longest jump by a 4-wheeled vehicle at the Indy 500 event called The Fearless at the 500 the event took place Sunday, May 29, 2011 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indianapolis, Indiana. This world record setting jump for longest jump by a four-wheeled vehicle capped off an exciting day of racing after the Indianapolis 500 Indy Car Race. The jump was fabricated to look like the Hot Wheels V-Drop. A limited edition Off Track vehicle was also sold at this event as a promotional vehicle as well as a limited addition version of the V-Drop at Toys R Us. This marks the first appearance of Team Hot Wheels. See Hot Wheels For Real

On August 3rd, the Green & Yellow Driver took on the challenge of the Double Loop Dare at the X Games both driving Loop Coupe. You can view this event in the Documentary

On August 28th, 2013, in a final showdown of all Four Teams, Hot Wheels released the short film World's Best Driver.

2012 Mainline Team HW Blisters[]

In 2012 some of the mainline cars where on decorative Team Hot Wheels Blisters representing each driver. Each car also included 2 stickers per car; one of the Team Hot Wheels logo, and one of the represented Team Color logos.
