The Toyota Corolla AE-86 Corolla (Japanese: トヨタ AE八十六 カローラ) is a Toyota design and is more closely resembles the Toyota AE-86 Trueno from the back and front looks more much like that of it's related model the Levin.The AE-86 was called the GT SR5 and DX Sprinter in North America, and 'Trueno' or 'Levin' in Japan. The Hot Wheels casting is a Trueno, but with it's pop-up headlamps shown folded down and concealed, whereas the Levin had normal headlamps.

Jun Imai Designed Toyota AE-86 when he watched Anime television series 'Initial D' So he decided to design it as a Hot Wheels casting. This car was driven by the character Takumi Fujiwara from Initial D. There is also a similar design by Mark Jones, which is a unlicensed, tuners version of the E90 series Toyota Corolla: Flight '03.

This casting is right-hand drive as is the standard for JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) cars.
