After Mattel acquired the Corgi Toys Ltd. brand and assets in 1989, the decision was made to integrate a variety of toolings into the Hot Wheels range starting with Auto-City in 1994. The second 1/43 scale range was released in 1996 shortly thereafter; the Turbos Collection.
Some of models of this series were previously released under the “Corgi Turbos Collection" name.
