Hot Wheels Wiki

Hello! My name is Reece and I am a Hot Wheels collector. I have been collecting Hot Wheels cars all my life (literally) and have several thousand. I want to get at least one of each Hot Wheels casting made from 1968 to Present (preferably the first release, but not essential), and I think this page is a cool way for me to track my progress and for others to see too! In the future, this may also provide a 'Hot Wheels Identification Guide' of sorts once I photograph all these models, which will be as much of a task as it was to collect them in the first place!

By saying that I want to collect one of each Hot Wheels casting, it opens up the question of what counts as a Hot Wheels casting, or more importantly, what I count as a Hot Wheels casting. Here is my answer to that. And if you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them.

This list excludes all non-1:64 Scale Hot Wheels castings and castings from series independent to the Hot Wheels 'Mainline' (some exceptions).

The following series have been excluded from this list:

  • Sizzlers (1970-1972)
  • Zowees (1972)
  • Revvers (1973)
  • Scorchers (1979-1981)
  • Steering Rigs/Steering Rig Cabs/Truck Co (1981-1982)
  • Flippers (1990)
  • Convertables (1991)
  • McDonald's (1993-)
  • Road Wars (1995)
  • Crash & Smash (1995)
  • Auto City (1995) Note: Castings introduced in the Auto City series which were later released in the Mainline have been included on this list in the year and series of their debut post-Auto City.
  • Haulers, Long Haulers, Pavement Pounders, Truckin' Transporters, Racing Rigs, Trackin' Trucks, Super Rigs, Track Stars Trucks (1997-)
  • Pro Racing (1997-2004) Note: Some exceptions.
  • Crashers/Crashers 2 (1999-2000)
  • Monster Jam (2000-2018)
  • Stunt FX Team (2000)
  • Charawheels (2002-2004)
  • Robo Wheels (2002-2003)
  • Speed Racer (2008)
  • Battleforce 5 (2010)
  • Character Cars (2012-)
  • Mutant Machines (2014)
  • Hot Wheels Monster Trucks (2019-)

Reasons for these series inclusion on this list is either because I have all or majority of the castings, or that some of the castings introduced in these series were later released in the Hot Wheels Mainline.

  • Farbs (1972)
  • Crack Ups (1985-1986)
  • Flip-Outs (1986)
  • Power Command (1990)
  • Cap Blastin' (1991)
  • Super California Custom (1991)
  • Color FX (1994)
  • 100% Hot Wheels (1996-2008)
  • HWC/RLC (2001-)
  • Acceleracers (2005)
  • San Diego Comic Con (Non-Character Cars) (2005-)
  • Hot Wheels Motorcyles (2012-2015)
