E-Mail Alerts

Brad, has the Hot Wheels Wiki stopped sending e-mail alerts when a page you're watching has been changed or somebody asks a question on your talk page? Because I'm not getting any anymore. HaarFager 05:04, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

I still receive them,loud and clear,Kenny.
Your default setting may have changed, mouse-over your avatar image and click change to view your account settings. at the bottom will be your email settings. Sinnin  talk  Contributions 05:35, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
Well, just how many people have permission to change my account settings? I certainly didn't tell it to stop notifying me of everything! HaarFager 19:51, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
I stopped getting some notifications as well. I think the people over at Wikia changed some default settings in the programming. BigBadBrad01 02:29, June 17, 2010 (UTC)
Well, true enough - I went and checked my settings and they had all been unchecked. I checked them back and now received notification of this message at least, so it must be working again. I don't know when I stopped getting alerts, they just stopped and I didn't pay any attention. You know what they say, "Out of sight, out of mind." Kenny HaarFager 03:03, June 17, 2010 (UTC)

Are people allowed to use photos from hot I ask this because User:Superman43 used photos from that website at List of 2010 Hot Wheels (International) and for the Ferrari 599 XX at Speed Machines (2010). I assume he or she didn't ask for permission. Fclass 14:11, May 25, 2010 (UTC)

I am not 100% sure or not. Its kind of a gray answer. But since those are FEP's...which are essentially prototypes, they really shouldn't be in the version table. Plus they are hideous images because they have that huge watermark going over the car. Since the answer I got over at was neither use/don't use, I say leave them there. When we get the cars and take pix, we should replace them. BigBadBrad01 02:20, May 26, 2010 (UTC)

Come on, Brad

Have you decided on making me an administrator? Fclass 15:40, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Yes, and the answer is no. Please stop asking. BigBadBrad01 03:39, January 28, 2010 (UTC)
Why not? Fclass 21:00, January 30, 2010 (UTC)

Wanted to have a chat regarding possible cooperation, could you send me your email address to christian dot braun at toycollector dot com? Joschik 15:51, January 13, 2010 (UTC)

What do I have to do in order to become an administrator? Fclass 16:37, November 9, 2009 (UTC)

Nothing as of right now. You don't believe Kenny and I are doing a good enough job? BigBadBrad01 16:58, November 9, 2009 (UTC)
Fclass please stop copying south texas diecast. Its not rocket science to buy a car, look at it, then type in a description of the tampo. Im pretty sure the underlying reason that they complained was not the lack of reference, but the fact you copied from them in the first place. If they wanted their descriptions here at all, they would add their own edits. Sinnin 05:22, November 10, 2009 (UTC)

2010 USA list

Hi Brad, I see that there are now 2 lists for 2010 (international and US). I believe the names are backwards, or is the US list considered the International list? I am new here and not sure what country origin this is based in. I think this is a great site and refer to it everyday. Anything I can do to help please let me know. Haypaul1 23:20, September 24, 2009 (UTC)

Haypaul, the List of 2010 Hot Wheels is for the USA numbers & the List of 2010 Hot Wheels (International) is for every other country. I am not sure how Canada fits in yet, so I guess we will see. Glad you like the site and its great that you are contributing and using. If you ever need any help or advice please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks! BigBadBrad01 23:26, September 24, 2009 (UTC)
Brad, are the lists backwards?Haypaul1 00:17, September 25, 2009 (UTC)
What do you mean by backwards? I am not quite following. BigBadBrad01 00:18, September 25, 2009 (UTC)
The US list says 2010 Hot Wheels List (International)Haypaul1 00:19, September 25, 2009 (UTC)
Oh ok, I kind of see what you are saying. Can you go ahead and fix them so they are accurate. I don't have any numbers yet since I have not found any of the 2010 cars yet. BigBadBrad01 00:25, September 25, 2009 (UTC)
Not a problem, I will correct. ThanksHaypaul1 00:30, September 25, 2009 (UTC)
Brad, I made changes to the pages, but not sure how to change the page name and lost the links from page to page. Sorry, I don't want to screw them up anymore than I already did.Haypaul1 00:53, September 25, 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I looked the #'s up online based on what other people have been finding. The lists should be correct now. BigBadBrad01 01:29, September 25, 2009 (UTC)
Since everybody and their mom are editing the 2010 list, let me give you my sources. The information came from posts on HWC and from pictures of the cards on ebay, as well as what I have found so far. I didn't crate the page, just edited it. The treasure hunts and track stars are not confirmed. Thanls for all your help.Haypaul1 01:53, September 25, 2009 (UTC)

Adding images

Hi Brad, I was trying to get the pics just right like you said by only having "75px" when inserting a picture. I don't have that choice when uploading an image. I only have two choices, one is to select "thumbnail" which gives you the options of "width", "layout" (right or left) and "caption". The other choice is to have the image "full-size" with the options of "caption" and "link". I think "full-size" is the right choice, but I can not reduce the size to "75px" causing the image to be rather large and not like all the rest of the images. The only way I can get the image to the "75px" is to use the "thumbnail" option. Please help me with this. Thanks. User: Taildragger

Hey Taildragger, when I insert a pic I don't even monkey around with anything. I just insert it and change the coding once it is in the coding section. Try that and see if it works. BigBadBrad01 05:05, September 14, 2009 (UTC)

Adding pics with new editor

I'm still not able to get pictures to show the way the others do. see Any help would be appreciated. ranugad 23:31, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Just replaced the "thumb" part with "75px" and I think you're good then. BigBadBrad01 06:09, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Couple of Q's

I dropped a question about uploading images from online sources onto the help pages FAQ, if you could swing by and check it out, I'd appreciate it.

My Castings

Hi Brad, A co-worker just told me about your wiki so I'm visiting for the first time. I wanted to set you straight on which cars I've designed. To the best of my knowledge, these are the cars I've designed in chronological order:

 • 2003:
Batmobile (from the Michael Keaton version), Fatbax Silhouette, ‘Tooned Splittin Image, Hardnose Toyota Celica,Slikt Back,Wail Tale
 • 2004:
Blings Ford Bronco Concept, Blings Hummer H3
 • 2005:
Hummer H2, Formul8r, Preying Menace
 • 2006:
’70 Pontiac Firebird,2006 Volkswagen Golf GTI
 • 2007:
Croc Rod, Ferrari 599 GTB
 • 2008:
Custom '62 Chevy Pickup, CCM
 • 2009:
Draggin' Tail, Bye Focal II, '70 Cougar Eliminator, '72 Chevy Vega

I did not design the '47 Chevy Fleetline. Not sure who did that one.

Keep up the great work! Thanks! -Rob (Kingu66)

Hi, is this Hot Wheels Designer Rob Matthes? If so, I'd gladly make the changes to your car list and on the casting pages themselves. Feel free to make any edit as you see fit as well. I may know a lot about Hot Wheels but my information is mainly secondary. Its nice to have you aboard here. Check in and often! In the future if you leave a comment make sure you sign it as well with the ~~~~. Thanks! BigBadBrad01 19:18, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Casting Names

Hi Brad, I learned doing the lists the casting names on the card with our names together will work. Example Purple Passion will take you to Purple Passion. Now let's say the page Purple Passion is already there, watch what happens without making a redirect with Steel Passion with a break in the middle. Purple Passion has to be first then a | break then Steel Passion ""Example click here still takes you to the Purple Passion Steel Passion. Fantazim 21:47, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Hey Bill, I actually use that trick quite often. It comes in handy in lists so you don't have to put Cool-One (2004), you can just put Cool-One and it goes straight to the page. With that trick, I never understood why people don't like the Disambiguation Pages. BigBadBrad01 02:51, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Hi Brad, I completely understand your thoughts on the Disambiguation Pages a week or 2 sgo I had to make to make one, Dodge Charger Daytona since there 2 completely diferent 1970 Dodge Charger Daytonas. I'm just like yourself, looking what is would be easier for a seach, and most important the easier for the new user. -Fantazim 04:06, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Bill, new users surprise themselves how fast they catch on with things like Wiki's. After all, it's not rocket science! We shouldn't have to "dumb everything down" just for them. Just a thought. HaarFager 05:16, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

E-mail Address

Brad, here's my e-mail address, so if you could send me yours, we can talk about "administrative" things offline, so that it doesn't keep adding to our talk pages. ( HaarFager 21:50, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Oh, yeah. I thought it would be a good idea to let people know I was available for help since being made an administrator, so I placed that note at the top of my talk page. I also mentioned that you had been promoted to administrator, also. So, you might want to add this information on your talk page, too. I also said that if anybody had a question and I didn't know the answer, you and I would figure out the answer and then I would get back with them on it. Things are getting fleshed out quite nicely here on the Hot Wheels Wiki, and I think that will make it easier to figure out things we encounter from here on out. If you know what I mean. So many precedents have already been set we just have to keep things uniform. Well, gotta go. I'm still working on that list to send you and my Tips On How To Photograph Hot Wheels page.
Hey Kenny, I don't have much time to talk here but I thought I'd just check in and let you know my email is I hope you had a great Christmas. Talk to you soon. BigBadBrad01 19:47, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Brad, I finally finished the Tips On How To Photograph Hot Wheels page. I e-mailed this request to you also, but in case it doesn't go through or something, please look it over and see if everything's formatted correctly and written clearly. I think it's pretty simple and straightforward and should help a lot for new users. HaarFager 02:26, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey Brad it's Pylot. I just wanted to drop by and say thanks for the welcome. I'm a new collector just getting started and I'm still trying to figure things out so I'll ask if I need any help. Thanks again. Pylot 18:36, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey Pylot, no problem at all. It looks like you are doing a great job already! Keep up the great work, I'm here to help let me know if you need anything. BigBadBrad01 19:14, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi, Brad! Thanks for your note about Wickamouse... I just gave him a permanent ban, so hopefully he won't be a problem anymore.

You guys are doing amazing work here; I'm so impressed! If Brian isn't around much, then there should be more admins around to take care of things... Would you be interested? If you guys want to talk and figure out who would be the best admins, then you can let me know and I'll give you the admin powers.

But there's one catch -- it's super important on a wiki to post a welcome for every new person that edits. That's the way you keep people around, and get them to come back and make more edits. So whoever's going to be an admin has to promise me up, down and sideways that whenever you see a red "talk" link on Recent changes, you go to that person's talk page and say hi to them. :) Does that sound good? -- Danny@fandom (talk) 02:35, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey Danny, thanks for the help! Its great that we have your support in trying the build a reputable guide here and the fact that anyone can help us in doing so is a great thing! As far as helping out as an admin, I'd be honored to help. I'd also like to nominate Kenny aka: User:HaarFager. He has been very helping in welcoming new members and his contributions are unmatched. Anytime there is something "controversial" we like to talk and come up with a solution before anyone gets mad. I hadn't known him before the wiki, nor do I know him that well, but he seems like a great guy and I believe he'd do a great job. Between us, we'd be a great team in welcoming and helping new users...never missing a beat. Thank you once again for being helpful and I am looking forward to this wiki being the top guide on the web for Hot Wheels. BigBadBrad01 04:14, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
That sounds great! I gave you and Kenny admin status, so now you can delete pages and ban vandals as you see fit. I'm really glad you guys are becoming friends and colleagues on the wiki. I think a wiki is perfect for building a collectors' resource like this, and it'll be great to see it grow! I'm sorry that I'm not around as much as I'd like to be -- but if you have any questions, please let me know, and I'm always happy to help out! -- Danny@fandom (talk) 05:04, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks Danny. If we need you we'll be sure to contact you. Thanks for being such a big help. BigBadBrad01 05:09, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Brad, I thought of another good idea we can employ when greeting new users. We need to come up with some handy tips, like searching for variations of the page you're about to upload that already exist, before you upload another one, various tips like that; a link to the the photography tips page I'm going to upload and anything else you can think of that a new user might like or need to know. (Knowing about the recent changes page is something that I only stumbled on to after being on here awhile. Now, it's the first thing I go over when I log on. I can see the new vehicle pages and any new images of all the great cars I don't have. Yet....!) By showing them some things right up front, they won't have to just jump right in, not knowing how to do anything. I had worked on wiki's before, but this one was a lot different to others I'd worked on, so it would be helpful to have a starting point for new users.
Something can be created that we can just cut and paste and it will be identical every time. Plus, in this way, we can kind of direct them in the correct way the wiki is shaping up to be by suggesting methods already used here, and it will turn out to be more uniform. HaarFager 14:16, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
That sounds like a great idea Kenny. Why don't you send me what you have in mind when you finish it and I'll add what I can to it. I do all the same things you do from visiting the recent changes first to just visiting new pages. I always like to see what other people have added. Its been great looking at all of the photography skill between you, fantazim (Bill), and vista69 (Mike), among others. I'm not going to be on here much til after the holidays, but after that I'll be on here as usual. So lets get a little something going so we can get any new users up to speed. TTYL. BigBadBrad01 15:15, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
One thing I'd like to update on the wiki as soon as possible, and although it doesn't involve new users, per se, it would eventually. And that is to update our "click to preload a template" template. We seem to have settled on one that has 13 columns, a separate one for the vehicle color and tampo color, etc., and I'd like to see the default sort and a "Category:Category Name Here" kind of thing at the bottom with that, so it's preloaded in place whenever somebody creates a new page. I've went in and added the default sort to a lot of pages where it wasn't present and it would be helpful if it could just be created instantly with the "click to preload a template" button. I suppose you and I have the power to do this and update the template, but I'll admit I don't know how. Once I learned however, I would know then. Do you think we could update the template form?
I, too, will be a little busy until after Christmas, so I'll work on a list of sorts and get it to you as soon as I can. I have been running the photography tips page I want to create around in my mind, so I'll try to upload that soon, also. Well, that's all for now. Have a Merry Christmas, Brad, and everyone else I've met on this wiki. I hope you all have a happy holiday and a safe New Year. Take care of yourself! HaarFager 23:27, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
I Second the motion Kenny. It would save ME a couple steps. I quit using the template and have been copy/pasting listing that already had the separate "Tampo" column and "Category Default". Although I admit that the "Category Default" column tends to be an after-thought, sorry 'bout that. Later,Vista69 00:29, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Hey guys! To tell you the truth, I am not sure how to modify the template either. I'll have to look though when I have a little more time. Probably after the holidays. Maybe by then we can all decide how the template should look. Have a very safe and Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year! BigBadBrad01 02:32, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi Brad

I'm not a frequent visitor to, I just like to collect. Thanks for your complements about my recent pictures, I think they're still too big but I'll work on that and the lighting too. The pictures that I started uploading to the site were older files on my hard drive that I had taken with three different cameras and various lighting conditions over an eight year span.(Vista69 22:48, 20 December 2008 (UTC))

Hi Brad, Wikamouse was at again today, this time he change the names on the 2009 list, can he banned, it seems to me this is a game to him. Fantazim 19:15, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey Bill, I don't have any privileges to ban people but we should get a hold of User:Toughpigs. His name is Danny and is an admin here. BigBadBrad01 20:16, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the follow up : ) I have 3 requests as the Hot Wheels by Collector Number grows, when I'm putting the titles of info I notice Highway Hauler and the Peterbilt Tank Truck / Tank Truck needs help, thanks Fantazim 05:09, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Hey Bill, did I get them all? I found a few more as well. :) BigBadBrad01 05:21, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
I guess what I can do is keep the string just below lol Alive '55 needs to go with Classic Nomad. BBL Fantazim 05:29, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi Brad, Happy New Year, I need you to look at the Ratbomb is it ok to fix the way it should be? Let me know. Fantazim 07:46, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Yes, good ahead and correct it. Happy New Year to you as well! BigBadBrad01 07:51, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi Brad, I need you to look at Big Rig, and Kenworth T-600A same casting and same pics used to. Also can you start the page Valentine's Day Cars Page, I have a complete set, but LOL afraid to take out of the blister, did not find Ground Hog Day though : (. Got bunch of goodies to keep me busy. Fantazim 22:49, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Hey Bill, I just redirected the Kenworth T-600A page to the Big Rig page since the Big Rig page had all of the info the Kenworth T-600A page had anyways. You can go ahead and make the Valentine's Day Cars page, I haven't found them yet so I don't really have any info for them. You should add the ones from last year to that page as well. I have a pic of the 2006 Dodge Viper Coupe already. BigBadBrad01 22:56, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Ok cool, I'll do that showing all info, rumor has it too that Target might be getting the packs of these as well, but will not say anything until I or some of us do some homework. Thanks Brad. Fantazim 23:02, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi Brad, Sorry I didn't get your message in the List of 2009 Hot Wheels, until now. I fixed the Supers took the S off and put in the right codes, also both Treasure Hunts share the same collector number, just have different codes, sorry about the over-look on my part. We have 2 new Users and they were Questioning on how we get codes and I posted a list from Hot Wheels Collectors Link, if that was ok to put the link in talk area. Also, I'll try better to proof read what I'm doing too. Fantazim 23:21, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Brad, what are our guidlines for pictures being posted here. Example Pylot posted a picture that seems to correspond with all his photos but, there is an eBay logo on the one, the Saleen thanks. Fantazim 18:05, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

I think, but am not sure, that each user is responsible for copyrighted images, plagiarized text, etc. Also, its possible those people may have permission from the image owner. Example, I got permission from Boobostank to use his images here. I make sure to note it every time I upload a photo of his. This may be a better question for Danny (User:Toughpigs) if you are concerned. I personally am not going to enforce any restrictions unless it gets excessive or we get complaints. BigBadBrad01 18:30, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
In addition, as an fyi, that picture of the yellow Saleen S7 (from ebay) was posted by the infamous User:Wickamouse (now banned for life), not User:Pylot. BigBadBrad01 18:36, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks Brad and sorry user:Pylot Fantazim 18:49, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Moving Pages

Anyway, I'd like to know why the Wikia can't have separate pages for the same castings with different names? I was bummed that you had moved the pages that I created for the Plow Trucks aka Bywayman. Why can't we have both? I understand why you would want to have the Bywayman with plows added to one page. But why can't there ALSO be a separate page for the Pavement Pounder , Super Scraper AND the Power Plower . I see that the pages are still on the www . Will you please bring them back (and other future same castings with different names) back to the list? I Believe that it would be a valuable Cross-Reference tool for a lot of collectors. Please reconsider moving pages to similar castings. Thanks.(Vista69 22:48, 20 December 2008 (UTC))

Hi Brad, wasn't sure if you got my message on the mustang stocker page, after being on Souths Site I found that the Mustang Stocker, goes with the Boss Hoss, and the Boss Hoss (Chrome) and not sure about how to layout these 3, should we do a link to show 3 different ones. Let you make that call. Your page has all the work on it. Fantazim 03:04, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Hey Bill, I didn't have any plans for the pages as I do not know that casting very well. Do what you think is right. BigBadBrad01 03:07, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Two Identical Pages

Brad, I just noticed that there are two identical pages that have been created for the Hot 5-Pack. I created one when I was working up all my 5-Packs and you created one also. Mine is named Hot 5-Pack and yours is named 5-Pack. They are identical except that mine has all the information and images and yours just has the name of the vehicles and images. One should be deleted, but it would seem easier to keep the one that's finished, so would you mind deleting yours or redirecting it or whatever has to be done? It's not that I just want to keep mine, it'll just save having to add all the information to yours and deleting mine. It's up to you because we don't need both. HaarFager 10:43, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey Kenny, I don't mind redirecting either one. But isn't it 5-Pack since there are no spaces in web addresses? If so, I'll just copy all the info over to that page. BigBadBrad01 21:14, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Brad, you're correct on there being no spaces between words in web addresses, but on the actual Hot 5-Pack, Hot Wheels is spelled the normal way, with the space between the two words, followed by the .com. Hope this helps. HaarFager 21:37, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Ahhh, gotcha. BigBadBrad01 21:48, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

More Redirect Requests

Brad, I hate to keep asking, but I have a few more redirects for you. There are a few various Real Rider wheel pages, RR, that need to be redirected to the main Real Rider page. Pages such as CDDRR and WWDDRR. When I was creating a lot of the wheel pages, I knew this would need to be done, but didn't know how to do it myself. That's why there might be several other types of Real Riders that don't have a page yet, but will need to be redirected as well. For instance, GHRR, RHRR, CDDRR2, LWDDRR, 5SPRR and many others that don't even have a name attached to them. They mainly didn't get a name because when I was working them up, they had colored white walls that I couldn't tell what color they were, so I left them unnamed. (Being totally colorblind has it's disadvantages at time.) Hope you don't mind me asking for all these redirects, but I've been completely swayed over to your centralization project. Someday, the Hot Wheels Wiki will appreciate all the saved space this free's up. HaarFager 12:59, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Brad, could you please redirect my page for the Superscraper, (which should have been named Super Scraper) to the Bywayman page? Somebody came in and created another Super Scraper page, so something will need to be done with it also. There is also a page for a version of this casting called Power Plower. It will have to be redirected too. I have moved all the descriptions from my Superscraper page, (and the other Super Scraper page, too), and those on the Power Plower page to the Bywayman page already, so no information should be lost by doing so. Thanks! HaarFager 08:03, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Oh, one additional note - this casting was also released with the name Pathbeater. No page has been created for this version yet, so I don't know what all's involved for redirects for it. I just wanted to let you know in case you could put in a redirect for that name even though a page doesn't yet exist for it. HaarFager 08:13, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Hey Kenny, hope you are doing great. I started redirecting the pages but when it comes to the Path Beater, has the Bywayman casting ever been released under that name? There is a Path Beater casting still being released whereas that Bywayman casting has been discontinued. The Path Beater used to be called Surf Patrol. I'll make a page shortly to avoid confusion. BigBadBrad01 08:18, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
I just checked and I got that wrong. The Pathbeater and Surf Patrol are different trucks than the Bywayman and Super Scraper. But, I originally got the information that they were the same casting as the Bywayman from Vista69's Super Scraper page and didn't confirm my facts. So, you won't have to worry about redirecting those. However, the Power Plower is just like the Super Scraper, so that one will have to be redirected. Sorry for the confusion, but I shouldn't believe everything I read, apparently! That was fast, thanks! HaarFager 08:34, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Ok Kenny, I think I got all the pages the Bywayman casting falls under. I even created a Path Beater page so there is no confusion. The castings look the same but certainly aren't the same lol. Well I'm off to bed. Have a great night. Talk to you soon. BigBadBrad01 08:42, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi Brad can you take a look at the '57 Thunderbird and the '57 T-Bird (1978) I believe that the '57 Thunderbird needs to be redirected or to be incorporated. Thanks Fantazim

Hey Fantazim, I redirected the page to the '57 T-Bird page because there are the 3 '57 T-Bird/Thunderbirds. Let me know if you need help with anything else. You're doing a great job. Keep up the great work! BigBadBrad01 21:50, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks Brad looks great, thanks for the kind words, and I like the photos you take. Fantazim 03:46, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi Brad it's me again, look at the '56 Nomad then look at the Since '68 Series can you redirect the one to the other, I have quit a few pics to post for that series. Thanks Bill Fantazim 23:48, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey Bill, do you mean make a table for the series? BigBadBrad01 23:51, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, also lol double check for 1970 chevelle the links aren't open but when they do they won't redirect unless they are ahead of time, a suggestion.Fantazim 23:54, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
I still had to make the pages for the '70 Chevelle SS & the SS Express when I made the '70 Chevelle page. As far as the Since '68 page, I'll try and get that table together tonight. I've been on here too long and I have to get back to work. BigBadBrad01 00:22, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
I see that a few users on here are using the South Texas photos I thought we weren't aloud, I found one on the Dodge Concept Car Fantazim 00:25, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
I can answer your question about this issue. I, too have noticed a few pictures being used that were obviously from the South Texas website and I asked an administrator about this once. Evidently, somebody on here has connections with that website and has permission to use the photos. But nobody else does. So, that's why nobody else uses their photos. I hope this helps answer your question. Kenny. HaarFager 01:39, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks Kenny - understood Bill Fantazim 02:03, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi Brad could you Change the Cadillac V-16 on the 2008 List to Cadillac Sixteen, and redirect it to Cadillac V-16 Concept, and the Cadillac V-16 (Hardnoze) should go there to. The origanal name of this was Cadillac V-16 Concept 2004 it was later in 2008 that Web Trading Car Card is calling this the Cadillac Sixteen. Fantazim 03:16, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

No prob Bill. BigBadBrad01 03:29, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi Brad, I have some photos for the Hummer H2 2006 First Edtions but what is listed say 2004 First Editions this should be the Blings. There are so many listings for the Hummer can you make a Disambiguation Page. Fantazim 22:24, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey Bill, I'll do what I can now for creating the Hummer H2 Disambiguation Page, but I'll have to add pix for it later. I'm still on vacation in Wisconsin. BigBadBrad01 23:20, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks Brad, did not know, enjoy yourself. Fantazim 23:40, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry. but it is pet-peeve of mine to give the actual designer it's due. Change it as you want it, but it won't be my last time.

Thanks, Designers put tons of themselves in each ca,even those that are replicas. It's nice to get some credit.Etscherne 07:56, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Hey, those are some nice looking Deora II pictures you've uploaded! The Deora II is a favorite model of mine. I'm going to upload a few Deora II pictures that aren't represented yet with one. HaarFager 13:04, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Brad, I hope you don't mind, but when I joined the Hot Wheels Wiki recently, I came across your user page early on. I liked the way you had set it up, so I emulated your design in setting up my own user page. You know what they say - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! HaarFager 02:48, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Brad, thanks for commenting on my Zamac World Race Deora II picture! Before I ever bought it off the guy that was selling it on eBay, I researched that particular model. All the references I could find showed that the back wheels were the same size as the front wheels. I had half convinced myself that it was a distortion through the plastic cardfront that made them look bigger. Then when I got it, I saw that they were indeed bigger.

Now, exactly what does it mean when you say this is a wheel error? Since there were only 2000 made, does that make mine worth less than the others since they are not in error and mine is? I don't know anything about errors. Thanks for any help you can offer on this. HaarFager 19:06, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, Brad. Like you, I have just about every Deora II model and I haven't opened any of them. What ones I have loose I purchased on eBay already opened because I couldn't bring myself to open any! Thanks for the info! HaarFager 20:13, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

MSGs: That's cool. I was just adding a couple that I have. If there's any extra info that I might be able to find for you on these models let me know.Kevinharbin 02:12, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Hey, Brad - thanks for adding the Octopark Playset Deora II with the 10SP's! I got to looking at the one I have still inside the playset and that's the kind of wheels it has. I didn't even notice! The one I photographed and uploaded was a loose one I got off eBay from a guy in Hong Kong, so I don't know if that makes a difference or not. Is it even an official model or a bootleg? You never can tell with those far-eastern countries sometimes. I don't mean to put them in a bad light, but countries in that part of the world have been known to pirate and counterfeit items before, this is a fact. But, thanks for uploading it, the Deora II page is quite impressive! HaarFager 21:02, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Awesome job building the Bone Shaker page ... You did good. AGENTAIR

Naming Conventions

Brad, I noticed you had changed the name of the original Hiway Hauler so as to differentiate it from the later release of 1992 with the same name. Generally, I think it's best to leave the original casting with it's original name, unencumbered with any prefix or additions to the name. Such as what I did with Ambulance and Ambulance (1989 Workhorses) and Lamborghini Countach and Lamborghini Countach (1997). I feel it's only fitting that the original release gets to keep it's name and in this way, the Wiki ends up with less overall name changes for people to keep up with. It's kind of like how the movie "Rocky" doesn't get it's name changed to "Rocky I" to differentiate it from "Rocky II," "Rocky III," etc. You just know plain old "Rocky" is the first one. That's my feelings on the matter. The way it stands now, when you click on a link for Hiway Hauler, it takes you to a page where you have to pick which one you want. I'd like the names to work like they used to and take a person directly to the page. It's quicker, easier and a whole lot less confusing. What do you think of this? Can the name of Hiway Hauler, the first casting, be changed back to plain "Hiway Hauler?" There's a trick to make a link have a different link name as opposed to the name that shows for you to click on. The markup goes something like: 2 "["Vehicle page/link name here|Display name here 2"]" Go into my user page sometime, like you're going to edit it and you can see how I've managed some of these kinds of link naming conventions. I'm just trying to help make things a little easier for people. HaarFager 21:13, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Hey Kenny, I know what you are saying about the links and I see what you are saying about the Hiway Hauler page. I for one like the format that I put it into because lets say someone is looking at the more the Hiway Hauler and they see a link that isn't formatted correctly. It would then take them to the Hiway Hauler (1980) page only confusing someone more when they see that this castings run ended in 1996. I like the "multi casting with the same name" page because it checks any errors that any rookie link makers may have made. See Cool-One. It takes you to the page and you see a pic of the original and the newer casting. I think all pages where there are similar names should look this way. Take a look at that and tell me what you think. BigBadBrad01 22:09, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Brad, that link to Cool-One does look very nice, but I'll just go in and change all the links for my Hiway Hauler from the first casting. I prefer that when I click on a link for that one, it takes me straight to it. HaarFager 23:04, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Vehicles With Missing Parts

Brad, what's your opinion on posting images where the vehicle in question has parts that are notably missing? I have an image of a Ramp Truck and until someone else posted one, I didn't even know it was incomplete. But, it came in a group of cars I got off of eBay. I have hesitated to upload it to the correct page because it's not really descriptive and as such, not very useful in identifying the model. What do you think we should do here on the Wiki, as far as setting a standard about that? HaarFager 01:02, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Hey Kenny, If you know its missing parts I'd avoid posting it unless it is super rare or something. I thought about this for a while a night or two ago when I was working on the Super Modified page. The person that uploaded the photo has the Super Modified without the wing on it. I was going to delete it but didn't really want to delete someone's pic. Now, if I had a replacement pic, I would. I think though that if I had a car that was missing pieces I just wouldn't upload it in the first place...unless, like I said, it was super rare and I didn't think there were many out there to begin with...I guess then I would just make a notation that it is in fact missing a piece. Which is what I think I ended up doing with the Super Modified. BigBadBrad01 07:18, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, Brad! Then I won't even post my image now. I could have placed it as a Gallery image so people could see what the front of it looked like, but since someone has already posted a complete vehicle, there's no need to. I have a Gunslinger that's missing the big gun on top and a Jet Threat II that's missing the windshield so I probably won't post those, either. HaarFager 14:49, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
If they are errors I say you should post them in the gallery. It is always fun to look at them! I like you pic of the Surf'n Series by the way...only if every series could have a pic like that! BigBadBrad01 18:21, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Oh, those two aren't errors, they're just old and missing the parts. Thanks for the compliment on the Wild Wave Series picture. I had a blast setting that one up, in fact although it was about freezing outside here, I felt warmer while I took that picture! I guess it was being on the beach that did it. HaarFager 19:51, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Custom Deora?

Brad, have you seen the signature banner of a member on called Deora4? It's got a Deora II that I've never seen before and was wondering if it was a custom or what? It sure is a nice looking one! Perhaps it's one of the few versions not represented by an image here on the Wiki? HaarFager 22:05, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

I've never seen it before. I'm assuming its a custom. Its definitely 1:18 scale. Look at the wheels. BigBadBrad01 01:12, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Mitsubishi Eclipse

Hey, Brad - where did the Mitsubishi Eclipse page go that I did some work on? The link to it that I have on my user page now directs me to a page with 3 pictures and names of cars and none of them appear to be the page I worked on. Where did it go? Renaming pages like this seems to be very confusing to me. Maybe I'm stupid, I don't know, but I can't find stuff anymore. I think it would be best to leave the first release with it's original name so the people that really use this wiki can find it. For those who are new and unexperienced, we should just tell about all other versions on every version's page, with links to find them. That way, new users can find the car they have if they're not sure which version it is, but they will find out there are more versions. The people that know there are more versions don't need a page to tell us there is more than one version. It just seems like excess pages in the Wiki. If I have created any excess pages, they should just be deleted. HaarFager 22:46, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey Kenny, there was a Mitsubishi Eclipse page there that I did delete to make room for the broad Mitsubishi Eclipse page. There weren't any pics on it and and it just had some info for the 2007 team release of that casting and it was incomplete. I didn't think anyone would care. I was going to add it to the new page when I got a chance anyways. The problem I have with your format is that for one, according to the way you are putting it, the first casting to have the name should keep it. Well if that is the case, the page you created was wrong to begin with because the Mitsubishi Eclipse ('Tooned) was released in 2003 and was the first to have that name. This is precisely why I think disambiguation pages work better. Also, when new castings come out and say "Mitsubishi Eclipse" you don't want someone going to the wrong casting, you at the very least want them to see that there are multiple castings with that name and that they can click on the thumbnail to bring them to the casting they were looking for. I find your way of putting links in the description very confusing. Yes, you do have to change the links under your name page (sorry) but this way if someone is for example adding the 'Tooned Mitsubishi Eclipse to the List of 2009 Hot Wheels and writes Mitsubishi Eclipse in there, its not going to take them to the Mitsubishi Eclipse Convertible page. On another subject (somewhat), I have been making multiple pages for castings in the wiki and all having them redirect to 1 page. This cuts down on the chances of 1 casting having multiple pages out there which I am finding more and more of. BigBadBrad01 23:07, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that was the one I was talking about. I remember there being some information about a 2007 Drop Top version, so that was the page I worked on. I didn't create it, but did a little work on it, but I don't know who created it or named it. Do you happen to remember which version that information was with? That way I can fix the link on my user page. As for there being multiple pages of vehicles with different names that are all really the same casting, what you're doing is probably what should be done. Having a vehicle like the Letter Getter, then it being released with about a dozen different other names is very confusing even to me. Everything should redirect back to the original casting like you're doing it. I'm glad you thought of that! HaarFager 00:05, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
I went back and added the info that you had put in for the Mitsubishi Eclipse Convertible. It was the 2007 Ragtops & Roadsters version. There was a wheel vari on that one as well so I added that one and the rest of the versions. I'm glad you like what I was saying. I proves very useful on that Batmobile page. Go lukc redirecting those Letter Getter links. I think that casting may have the most amount of names. :) BigBadBrad01 06:25, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Undoing Changes

Brad, I went and undid what you had done to the image size on my 2003 Wild Wave Series page, then I got to thinking why you had done it. Apparently, each user sees things differently on their computer than anyone else does when looking at the same page. I have uploaded a printscreen of what it looked like on my computer and how I formatted it to look exactly like that. It can be found here: Wild Wave Problem So, please don't take offense, I go into detail over there in the text below the photo that tells what I was seeing. Have you noticed this issue yourself, and is there a way around it? Spending all that time formatting a page and then to find it doesn't actually look anything like what you just spent all that time doing is kind of frustrating to me. I wonder if there is some kind of work around or should I bring this to the attention of one of the administrators to find out an answer? HaarFager 05:51, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey Kenny, Here is a shot of how it looks on my screen. Wild Wave Screen It looks like this on my home computer which is a PC and my work computer which is a Mac. Both are set to 1280x1024 resolution and on 22" monitors. Thats why the text isn't pushing the table down created room for the picture on the right. BigBadBrad01 06:37, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, Brad, for showing me your view. That's kind of what I suspected it looked like. Is every page stretched out wide like that for you? I don't know if you can tell it or not from the picture I uploaded, but the whole page, table width and all, shows in the screen and it's not stretched out like that. I wonder why it does that? Shouldn't we be concerned about this? Because it seems like I'm formatting a whole lot of potential pages that are going to look just like this one and be unusable. I don't want to waste my time and have to have somebody come after me and fix everything I do so that it won't be screwed up. Should I bring this to an administator's attention and see what we should do about it? Or am I the only one experiencing this issue? I want the pages I create to look good and be useful at the same time. HaarFager 08:22, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
No Prob. Yeah maybe one of the Wiki guys can help us out. I am good at copying code but not so good at creating it to do what I want with it. Its funny thought because now I see why everyone was disagreeing about the pictures on the casting pages. Some wanted 75px others like me 100px. Depending on what size screen you have makes a difference in your preference. Try getting a hold of that "Danny" (toughpigs) fellow and see if he can help. I'll try to fool around with it tomorrow if you can't get it to work better. I'm out for the night after I finish uploading the Chevy Silverado pix I took tonight. BigBadBrad01 09:23, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, Brad. I'll send a message to "toughpigs" and see if he can help. Catch you later! HaarFager 09:37, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Where do you live that you are up so late? I am in Arizona and its 2:39a here. BigBadBrad01 09:39, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
You know, I was just wondering the same thing about you! I live in Southern Illinois, but I work nights and get home around 2 a.m. a lot of times. It's 3.51 a.m. right now here. I grew up in Southern Arizona, a smaller town called Safford. HaarFager 09:52, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Nice! I make my own schedule so I'll probably go in about Noon tomorrow...or I may just work from home. I grew up in Southeastern Wisconsin but moved out here 2 years ago. I wish I could stay up and upload all the cool things I took pics of tonight but that'll have to wait until tomorrow. Good Night for real this time! (This site is so addicting) BigBadBrad01 10:04, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Updating Lists/Pages under Designers

Brad, I noticed when you click on a Designer via Castings by Designer, that not every casting is shown. Pages exist for many more cars particularly in my own case and when I edit a casting's designer you may not see that casting under that designer's name even when a page exists. Can you tell me how to edit this info. I've gotten really into correctly listing the designer of each model. I want all the designers to have full representation here.Etscherne 03:38, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi Eric, in order to get a casting (or castings) onto the pages you are talking about. Go to the page for that casting, and add a category for that designer. Most designers have categories already. For example, to make the Seared Tuner (or Sho-Stopper as I prefer) show up for add "Eric Tscherne Designs" to the Seared Tuner page and it will show up in that category. As far as the casting showing up on the table on your page Eric Tscherne, that is up for someone to add to that directly. I hope this helps. If you have any more Questions please don't hesitate to ask. BigBadBrad01 05:44, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Hey there, I do know you saying that you must love Hot Wheels, well I certainly do, been collecting those cars since I was 2, and I'm 14 right now and still have them all, got like 400 cars approximate.

And with the Mechanix page, I know I dont have all the cars listed beacause I do know I missed some, I do own the game and I also think I might have missed a track, anyway, I'll try to finish it when I can.

Marauder 09 01:33, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi, this is Kenny, another administrator on here. I'm glad to see your enthusiasm about Hot Wheels! Although, I have to say that when I was your age, I didn't have near as many Hot Wheels as you do. I would have been mighty envious of your collection! I'm 48 now, so all I can say is never lose your love of Hot Wheels! I still love them a lot. Check out my user page sometime to see how much I still love them. Keep up the good work! HaarFager 18:20, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Have heard of the Hot Wheels Race Aces series and the Hot Wheels Ferrari Racer series? The first one's exclusive to Target and the second one's exclusive to Toys R Us. Could you also add other series' and colors to Evil Twin? Fclass 15:11, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

I have heard of both of the series. I picked up a few of the Race Aces as well as the Ferrari Racer Series. One thing to keep in mind is that the Ferrari Racer Series was available Internationally & at some hobby shops in the U.S.A. before it was available at TRU. Therefore, it technically isn't a TRU exclusive. Feel free to make edits and start pages yourself. That's the great thing about the wiki. Anyone can do it! BigBadBrad01 16:38, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

Hello. It's Fclass again. I recently bought a Ferrari 5 pack that includes the following: Ferrari 599 GTB, Ferrari 550 Maranello, Ferrari F355 Spider, Ferrari 365 GTB/4, and Ferrari 456M.

That isn't listed in the 2009 5 packs page. Also, you created the '67 Pontiac GTO Convertible page. I created the 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible page. Want to merge the two? Fclass 14:23, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Hey Fclass, you can go ahead and add that Ferrari 5-Pack to the 5-Packs page...don't be afraid! :) Also, sorry about not seeing the '67 Pontiac GTO Convertible page you started. I'll go head and merge them. BigBadBrad01 02:17, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

I don't have the image of the 5 pack. If you have it, you can add it. Actually, you can check it out at South Texas Diecast. They don't have the other 2009 Ferrari 5 pack that's listed. Fclass 17:48, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Is it possible to merge one category into another? I want to merge Category:Ford Cars into Category:Ford Vehicles so it can cover cars and trucks (it was really HaarFager's idea). Is it also possible to rename or move a category? Because I don't see the Move option on the top of categories. Wikipedia can move categories. Why can't this? Fclass 17:38, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

 • The only solution I knew to this was to redirect the Category:Ford Cars page to the Category:Ford Vehicles page. Its essentially what moving it does. The one thing you'll have to do though is go through all the Ford Cars that have the Category:Ford Cars and change that category to Category:Ford Vehicles. BigBadBrad01 18:45, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Could you delete Category:Ford Cars, please? I moved all the vehicles to Category:Ford Vehicles. Could you also do the same with Lincoln and Mercury? In other words, make a Category:Lincoln Vehicles and a Category:Mercury Vehicles and I'll move the cars myself, and afterward, you delete the old categories. Fclass 18:22, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
 • I'm not going to be able to get to this right away but you are more than welcome to create one yourself and start moving them. I don't think I am going to delete the old ones, but insetad redirect them to the new ones. BigBadBrad01 20:47, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
I think it would be better if you deleted the old categories like Category:Ford Cars and Category:Dodge Cars (I'm working on Category:Dodge Vehicles). Also, where can I find data on redirecting a page? I looked everywhere and I can't find it. Fclass 13:24, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

How do I become an administrator? Fclass 14:48, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

 • Why do you want to become one? BigBadBrad01 18:39, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
 • Just curious. Fclass 13:52, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Is there any reason why you moved the Tooned Lamborghini Countach page? And what's the reason behind the Ferrari and Lamborghini pages? Fclass 14:32, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

I moved the Lamborghini Countach ('Tooned) page because I feel as though its easier to find under this name. I had searched for it under its correct name: 'Tooned Lamborghini Countach and could not find it because it was spelt Tooned Lamborghini Countach. Doing it this way eliminates the chance for error with and without the apostrophe. In addition, it also looks nicer on the Lamborghini page. I created the Ferrari & Lamborghini pages so people who are fans of the brands can see all the models Hot Wheels has done. I personally am a fan so I think its cool to see. BigBadBrad01 14:46, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

I recently created Exhausted (Fatbax), but I did not know Exhausted was already created. Could you please merge the two and have Exhausted (Fatbax) as the title? Fclass 16:37, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

I recently created the Mitsubishi Pajero (Tooned) article. Hellers4 started Mitsubishi Pajero. Could you please delete the one started by Hellers4? And could you block this guy? Fclass 17:46, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

I'll merge the two. I'm not going to block him though. It wasn't done with malicious intent. I did leave him a message to please check more carefully when creating pages. BigBadBrad01 21:31, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
You didn't merge them yet. Fclass 17:13, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Sorry. Haven't got around to it. BigBadBrad01 06:24, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Hellers4 created Hot Rod. It's unknown what kind of vehicle this is. Could you ask the person what it is or delete it? Fclass 15:29, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Situation resolved. It has been deleted. BigBadBrad01 00:45, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

When Editing a casting how do you start a new row User:Hellers4

I started Mercedes SL55 AMG, yet Mgoch started Mercedes SL55. They're both the same. Just check it out at South Texas Diecast. Could merge the second one into the first? Or delete the second one?Fclass 17:13, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Solved. BigBadBrad01 17:30, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Is there any way I can see which new articles have been created? Is there a special page for that? Fclass 14:38, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Basically, just go to the latest activity box to the left and click on more to see all the updates. Anything with an "N" next to it is a new page. BigBadBrad01 15:07, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Where did you get your information for the '72 Plymouth Duster Thruster? Fclass 14:06, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

From my own knowledge. I put what I could remember, then I verified it between several online sources. That is usually what I do. Why do you ask? BigBadBrad01 15:06, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
I wanted to know what your online sources were. You can still tell me what they are. Fclass 16:00, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
Well my number 1 source is firsthand knowledge. My top two online sources are casting database and I trust both and trust the people who built them. I have found the occasional error nothing is perfect. That's why the best knowledge is firsthand. BigBadBrad01 05:32, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Blazer 4x4 is a Chevrolet vehicle, right? And what does "unknown Corgi" Mean? Fclass 15:04, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Where do you see "unknown corgi"? The Blazer 4x4 is a Chevy Vehicle. Corgi is a brand of diecast cars the Hot Wheels brand bought out back in the day. So some castings were made by Corgi but then Hot Wheels started producing them.
Bronco 4-Wheeler is from Ford? Fclass 15:06, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Yes Sir. BigBadBrad01 22:19, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
How do you get the photos of the castings? Fclass 17:27, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
I either take them myself, or I ask people for their permission to use their photos here. BigBadBrad01 17:41, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

The Simpsons family camper

Is The simpson family camper Baja Breaker. I found it in list of 1990 hot wheels. [User:Hellers4]

Hi Hellers4, Since I'm the guy responsible for your question to Brad, the answer is, YES. The Simpson's Family Camper was originally released as the Baja Breaker, and I included it with the list of 1990 Reissues with it's reissued name. Vista69 03:32, 3 August 2009 (UTC), Mike
Thanks for answering Mike! BigBadBrad01 05:27, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Hellers4 created Military Tank, but it doesn't exist. Could you also redirect The Simpson's Family Camper to Baja Breaker? They're the same. Baja Breaker had The Simpsons artwork on it back in 1990. Fclass 14:25, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Done. BigBadBrad01 01:23, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Which year was the Drive-In Set released? Fclass 17:06, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
I figured the Drive-In Set out. Some user named User:Killerkars vandalized the Mystery Cars article. Fclass 18:07, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Old Number 5 vs Old Number 5.5

Is there a diff. between Old Number 5 and Old Number 5.5 User:Hellers4

Yes, quite a few differences. Check out the pix. Look at the hood. BigBadBrad01 23:09, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
Thanks and is Old no. 5.5 number 2 [Hellers4]
Huh? BigBadBrad01 05:03, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm sorry I mean is Old Number 5.5 the 2nd Old Number 5 (example:Twin Mill, Twin Mill 2, Twin Mill 3)[Hellers4]

The Old Number 5.5 is essentially the Old Number 5 with a few mods. That's why they added the ".5" because its different enough to not be the same casting as it was before. BigBadBrad01 15:36, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

trading hotwheels

hey everyone. i bought like 5 mystery cars and now i have doubles! anyone know of a site to go to for trading hot wheels? User:Killerkars

Go to [1], there is a trade board there. Don't forget to sign your posts with a ~~~~ so I or anyone else can see who wrote it without having to look it up. BigBadBrad01 15:36, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Race Truck

Hellers4 started Race Truck, but Bywayman went under that name in 1995. I tried to move it, but was unsuccessful. Help. Fclass 16:18, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

It's okay now. I figured it out. Fclass 16:58, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
The Race Truck is also the name of the Heavyweights casting. It appeared in SELECTIONS and in the 2008 Red Line Club Rewards Series. BigBadBrad01 18:32, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Pontiac Grandprix

Hi, Can you delete the page Pontiac Grandprix (Nascar). This is a declination of Pontiac Stocker. I Hope is it better if I create the same page style that the T-Bird Stocker. Many thanks and sorry for this creating page. Mgoch

Done. BigBadBrad01 20:52, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
Just so you know, Hellers4 started Pit Crew Car, but that's another name for Pit Crew. I redirected Pit Crew Car to Pit Crew. Fclass 18:29, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

How come categories are unable to appear at Stagefright? Fclass 17:09, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

I figured it out, Fclass. Part of the coding for the Gallery was missing and it was throwing off the coding on the rest of the page. I put the end of the Gallery coding on the page and now the categories work like they should once again. Thanks for catching this! HaarFager 04:17, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Good job Kenny! BigBadBrad01 19:22, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Hot Wheels Collecters

I am new to Hot Wheels Collecters and I have one question. Is Hot Wheels Collecters a Hot Wheels news site. [Hellers4]

Are you talking about If so, check it out. Its a great community of new, information & other collectors. BigBadBrad01 06:25, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Is it possible that you merge Big Bertha and Tough Customer? It's the same casting with different names like Bywayman. Fclass 15:02, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Done. BigBadBrad01 16:17, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
I tried adding a photo of the 2009 Modified Rides Deuce Roadster to the List of 2009 Hot Wheels, but I messed up and I don't know what I did. Help. Fclass 17:55, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Fixed. BigBadBrad01 05:33, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Should maybe Tough Customer have had Big Bertha redirected to it instead? It was the first name used, and the last as well. HaarFager 11:34, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
I've never been an advocate for morphing pages. But since we do, I think Kenny makes a great point. The MAIN page for the Tough Customer, Big Bertha, and Battle Tank should always be the, original, release name,,, "Tough Customer". Vista69 14:17, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

hi / thanks

Hi Brad. Just wanted to say thank you for the welcome. I'm new here and a newbie when it comes to wiki editing but i think i've already learned a thing or two. Anyway I forgot to write in the summary of some changes i made yesterday (my 1st) i hope it's not a problem. Today i didn't forget and never will again. =) Thanks. Martapgf 18:09, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Hi! Is it Marta? Thanks for helping build this wiki. You are doing a great job. You have some great pictures there! BigBadBrad01 05:34, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Custom '56 Ford Truck

Hi! For this casting Custom '56 Ford Truck, is this two different Tool or is it the same but modified. What do you thing ?

As is the case with most any casting that has an opening hood & a closed hood, they are used from different tools or molds. Really popular castings like the '67 Camaro have somethings like 7-10 molds/tools. I know the Bone Shaker has 4. But I don't think was need to make a new page or even a new table. I think we can group these together....otherwise we are just complicating things. BigBadBrad01 20:21, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

hot wheels wiki on Wii

did you know that u can go to hot wheels wiki on the nintendo wii? [hellers4]

I didn't know that. Cool. BigBadBrad01 23:00, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
Some user created 60's Muscle Car Set, but this person did not expand on it at all. Care to delete it or redirect it? Fclass 14:07, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Custom '69 Chevy

could you check this:

for which bed version it has?

thanks bob

Hey Bob, I'm not sure which one it has. Part of my collection is in another state still and this is one that is part of the collection that is still in that other state. Sorry. BigBadBrad01 00:32, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Why does Category:2009 Dragstrip Demons and Category:Dragstrip Demons exist? Delete one. Fclass 20:37, September 3, 2009 (UTC)

Ok. BigBadBrad01 00:06, September 4, 2009 (UTC)

I tried to change User:Taildragger's edits at List of 2009 Hot Wheels and Split Decision, but I couldn't. I think this is vandalism. Fclass 14:16, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

Its not vandalism. Just a new user learning the ropes. I think I fixed everything. Let me know if I missed anything. BigBadBrad01 18:06, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

Dream Van XGW

I was going to create a dream van page till I found the Dream Van XGW page. Could you possibly create a re-direct from "Dream Van" to Dream Van XGW I cant figure it out. Thank you Sinnin 05:05, September 12, 2009 (UTC)

Now the search seems to work, the first time i checked i got the "start this page" page. please disregard =P Sinnin 05:10, September 12, 2009 (UTC)

New Castings

Do you know anything about Tri-Baby Too and '38 Ford C.O.E. Truck? Fclass 14:12, September 12, 2009 (UTC)

Yes, what would you like to know? They haven't officially been released yet. BigBadBrad01 05:07, September 14, 2009 (UTC)

Hi think i made a mastake on the piledriver page. if so can you fix it.hellers4

I fixed it. Fclass 16:04, September 12, 2009 (UTC)
Good work, Fclass! HaarFager 14:50, September 14, 2009 (UTC)

At CAT Dump Truck, User:Sinnin installed a Matchbox version of this vehicle. This is a Hot Wheels website, not a Matchbox website. Please delete this photo. Fclass 14:13, September 15, 2009 (UTC)

Some collectors may appreciate that this is a hot wheels casting sold under a different name. It is the only hot wheels casting I know of that has crossed to matchbox. I am not even sure where I got it as I do not buy ANY matchbox vehicles. I have searched but this vehicle remains a mystery. Perhaps you should also request all the speed machines and wisconsin toy company cars be removed, as they are not "Hot Wheels". But I dont think any true collector would deny the fact that they are indeed hot wheels. Sinnin 20:12, September 15, 2009 (UTC)
I just wanted to jump in here because I think the CAT Dump Truck that Sinnin submitted IS an interesting release. The fact is that there was a series of 2-packs released during the Hot Wheels and Matchbox merger that consisted of heavy construction vehicles packaged with a plastic tub of "clean dirt" The interesting thing is that most all the casting WERE in fact originally Hot Wheels casting, so there-fore, as a Hot Wheels collector, bought them. Back to the CAT Dump Truck that Sinnin submitted. I have the same reissue with the operating dump bed, but it has "Hot Wheels cast in the base. That's interesting to me because I KNOW that I bought it in a package that had "Matchbox" on the card. I'll submit a picture of my variation soon. Mike, Vista69 23:43, September 15, 2009 (UTC)
I believe this version in question should stay as Mike, Vista69, said. I remember back in 1998 when Mattel took over Matchbox, these are in fact Hot Wheels castings released under the Matchbox name. See the Excavator as well. While this is a Hot Wheels wiki, I think having these and their story on here are an asset to the site. BigBadBrad01 03:25, September 16, 2009 (UTC)

Fine. Anyway, was 2009 the first year for Modified Rides? Fclass 14:22, September 19, 2009 (UTC)

Yes Sir. BigBadBrad01 20:13, September 19, 2009 (UTC)
Are LW and WSP the same thing? And why did you create Mustang Mania and Mustang Mania Set? They're both the same. Fclass 16:46, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
The LW (Lace Wheel) and WSP (Wire Spoke) are the same basic mainline wheel...they just are referred to as either or. And, in reference to the Mustang Mania & Mustang Mania Set, they are NOT the same. The Mustang Mania cars come on individual blister cards and are offered at retail whereas, the Mustang Mania Set was a boxed set offered over at BigBadBrad01 23:42, September 21, 2009 (UTC)

2010 Listing

Hi ! We have sea that the next year in the Hot wheels collection geave two different listing one for the US collector and one for the International. I think we should rename this 2010 list to US 2010 listing and should create a second International 2010 listing. What do you think ?

That sounds good. How about we keep List of 2010 Hot Wheels for the US/Canadian numbers and for the international numbers we do List of 2010 Hot Wheels (International)? That way we keep consistency with our lists. BigBadBrad01 14:58, September 24, 2009 (UTC)
Thats fine. Great response. I hope is better for the future. Thanks. Mgoch
I got the information from's forum. If you have an account there, got to the General Discussion forum, click "Ask Hot Wheels," scroll to see "The Designers," and click on it. A user presented a catalog of who designed what. Fclass 15:09, September 25, 2009 (UTC)
Wow, it's great to know who designed what casting! I'm glad you found that link, Fclass! Thanks! HaarFager 20:00, September 25, 2009 (UTC)
Great work Fclass! BigBadBrad01 20:36, September 25, 2009 (UTC)

Some user created WSCOTTS and Hotwheels Vintage, but they don't add anything else. They're nonsensical. Please delete them. And merge Computer Warrior and Phantomachine. They're the same casting. Fclass 14:06, September 28, 2009 (UTC) I really think you should make me an administrator. I'll take care of any vandals quickly. Fclass 18:03, September 28, 2009 (UTC)

For the 20th time, they are not vandals, they just haven't gotten the hang of the wiki out yet. I left you a message on your page. please read regarding your ban. BigBadBrad01 19:08, September 28, 2009 (UTC)

Hi Brad I made the page Pontiac Firebird (starter set) and I thought that you could fix it up a bit. Thanx. JapSkylineDrifter 03:06, October 2, 2009 (UTC)

I dont know what your page is supposed to be, but i added the scripts for you below your personally crafted tables. In the future just copy and paste the scripts from another page. To get a better understanding of how this all works, try figuring out how some of the code actually works, that will help you in the future.Sinnin 03:29, October 2, 2009 (UTC)

First of all, Computer Warrior and Phantomachine are the same casting. Please merge them. Second, JapSkylineDrifter is not contributing anything. What is WSCOTTS and Pontiac Firebird (starter set)? They don't exist. They should be deleted. Fclass 14:34, October 2, 2009 (UTC)

A page that has no links to it, other then showing up in the "Latest Activity" area, affects no one. Let JapSkylineDrifter have his personal place to practice and try and get the hang of it. Give him time to turn those pages into something. Personally i think if a page has nothing to offer you personally, then you really have no need to be looking at it, or for that matter wasting your time complaining about it Sinnin 01:27, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

So you want this website to have meaningless articles that never existed on real life? It seems I'm the only one who actually cares about the integrity of this website. There's no WSCOTTS and there's no Pontiac Firebird (starter set). They never existed and for that, they must be deleted. Peroid. Fclass 14:35, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

Okay guys, not a great thing to see while I'm on vacation so I'm going to make this short and sweet. I deleted the Pontiac Firebird (Starter Set) page because I am not sure the car ever existed. Prove me wrong though and show me a pic, a source, anything. Second, I left the WSCOTTS page because it is a tampo that has been on numerous castings. While it isn't a page I'd start, I respect the wiki and whats its all about...a continual growth of knowledge. As long as a page is informative and provides accurate information it will stay. Fclass, integrity is not about knocking down and deleting rookie users, its about helping them so they can contribute to the standards we expect here at the Hot Wheels wiki. I have seen you delete something even after your suspension. If it happens again, you will be banned for more than 3 days. Please take me more serious. I am sick of redoing your "undos". Sinnin, thanks for the help. JapSkylineDrifter, you need a little practice. I set up a page called Hot Wheels Wiki:Practice Page for you to work on. Please use it before you make edits and make sure everything in the coding is correct. Lets keep this place enjoyable for all and help out any users that we can. Thanks! BigBadBrad01 18:01, October 3, 2009 (UTC)
What did I delete? I deleted nothing. Fclass 18:09, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

DeLorean (2010 New Models)

DeLeorn 2010
On Facebook I found a pic Of the DeLorean 2010 New Model is it true. Hellers4
Yes, Its true. I'm not sure what # it is on the list yet. BigBadBrad01 01:51, October 7, 2009 (UTC)

O.K thanks. Hellers4

Thanks for the help on the Creature cars. I was in the middle of workin em into their own pages last night when my son called.

These last few 5 packs hittin have awesome!!! Lotsa work for the wiki!

ranugad 02:19, October 8, 2009 (UTC) PS If Fclass reads this... thanks for adding the category section. I still don't have the hang of that or adding a gallery since the upgrade.

You need to block User:Superman43 for the vandalism at Ferrari F430 Challenge and other articles. I believe this person did this on purpose. Fclass 14:48, October 10, 2009 (UTC)

Please explain to me how this is vandalism? BigBadBrad01 01:10, October 11, 2009 (UTC)
excuse me for hijacking, but all images from superman43 were taken off ebay auctions, im not sure of where you stand on stolen images, but i think we should replace them as soon as we can Sinnin 01:15, October 11, 2009 (UTC)
I thought that's where they were from. I agree with you 100%. BigBadBrad01 01:17, October 11, 2009 (UTC)

Huh? All cars are from ebay because in another sites aren´t any Hot Wheels . Thanks . Superman43 BYE. And Maserati Quattroporte is too edited. What cars have you ????? And from State are you ????? In the cars i mean "new cars" you have.

Hey buddy, take a chill pill and speak a little more clearly. I am not grasping what you are saying exactly. The pictures are from ebay, correct? First, are they yours? Second, if not, do you have permission to use them? Let's just relax and not get worked up. I am not here to fight with you. BigBadBrad01 20:37, October 11, 2009 (UTC)

I have Hollowback . It is new 2010´s car . It has got green glass ,green-black stripes (2), silver interior .

Have any hints on getting and finding T-Hunts?

P.S. are you on Fattycats 03:50, October 11, 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I am on under the same name. As far as Treasure Hunts, just get to stores when they open to increase your chances. Other than that, its being in the right place at the right time or knowing what stores don't have employees snatching cars in the back. BigBadBrad01 20:39, October 11, 2009 (UTC)

Metallic vs. Metal Flake paint

It seems the standard for sparkly paint here, is to call it Metalflake. I always call it metallic. Personally I dont care what we call it. The reason im writing this is because Fclass has changed my entry from metallic to metalflake. So lets compare as these are actually 2 different things

Metallic Paint, Is a single stage paint, that has a very small particle sparkle right out of the can, It is ready to spray.

Metal Flake is a little more complex. It looks more like the Gel coat on a bass boat. Other then the low rider community use of Metal Flake is pretty rare. Metal flake is applied in stages, requiring a base coat and then adding the Large metal flakes (glitter) by hand to a clear or candy paint.

In conclusion all sparkly Hot Wheels are metallic paint finishes. With the exception of the glitter cars. If you have any glitter cars, you will know that you can actually feel the metal flakes in the paint. Sinnin 21:37, October 12, 2009 (UTC)

from vista69,

David, I'm glad you brought this back to the surface. Kenny, (HaarFager), and I have been debating "Metallic" vs. "Metalflake" almost since I started contributing. He likes to change my color desciption too, and we still don't agree.

Here's my opinion about the difference...
Metallic is like an early Spectraflame paint...."translucent colored lacquer applied to the polished bare metal"
Metalflake is a paint with a micro glitterery finish
Glitter is a paint with larger pieces of glitter.

I think it will always be one of those details about the way we see the paint color(s) differently. Maybe it's an "agree to disagree" type of situation. I think rather than debating our opinions about color descriptions, it's time to make a new page about color desciptions. Too much for me. Any takers? Vista69 00:52, October 13, 2009 (UTC)

I agree with Mike here. Let make a page to be clear. I obviously don't know enough about the paint stages because I go back and forth with "Metallic" & "Metalflake" ...I tend to use the latter more often. Make a page and then we can enforce this more...include visual samples of paint as well. That should help. BigBadBrad01 01:17, October 13, 2009 (UTC)
I was just basing the descriptions on automotive finishes. In the automotive world a spectraflame paint is known as a candy, or transparent color. Its all so confusing =P Sinnin 01:30, October 13, 2009 (UTC)

Connect Cars

Hi Brad, I just saw your post on HWC and there at a Toys'R'Us near me. Do you want me to buy one??JapSkylineDrifter 06:11, October 14, 2009 (UTC)

Do they have the Wisconsin Cool-One there? I am looking for that one. I'm not too concerned about the others. Let me know! Thanks! BigBadBrad01 07:19, October 14, 2009 (UTC)

I will let you know but I can only go on the weekends so you might have to wait 2 days.JapSkylineDrifter 07:23, October 14, 2009 (UTC)

That's cool. Just let me know. Thanks! BigBadBrad01 07:30, October 14, 2009 (UTC)

OKJapSkylineDrifter 09:58, October 14, 2009 (UTC)

Just found out that I can't go to Toys'R'Us but I can go to Kmart because I have to go to the optometrist. Is that OK?JapSkylineDrifter 05:51, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, whatever is cool. If you find it great! If not, don't worry about it. :) BigBadBrad01 06:12, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

I didn't find one. Sorry:(. But on the upside I got a Race Ace Trak-Tune,2009 Ford F-150,'40 Ford,Tri & Stop Me and Dune It Up.JapSkylineDrifter 08:53, October 17, 2009 (UTC)

Hot Wheels has decided to release one exclusive model for Brazil, not two, in the 2010 mainline. This is due to shipping and manufacturing. Fclass 21:00, October 14, 2009 (UTC)

I heard that too. Not sure how it will affect the numbering. I guess we will see when they release the official list. I am not too concerned though with the International List, as you can see. I am just trying to build the USA List correct. This discrepancy in numbers really bugs me. They should have just tacked the numbers onto the end for the International List instead of displacing all the other cars. Oh well. BigBadBrad01 23:01, October 14, 2009 (UTC)
By the way, I'm not trying to make enemies with anybody. If I offended you or anybody else with my actions, I apologize. Fclass 15:40, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

Could you delete Category:Carroll Shelby Designs? He never designed anything for Mattel. I want to replace it with Category:Shelby Cars. Fclass 14:33, October 21, 2009 (UTC)

Go through start changing them over. I'll delete that category when nothing else links to it. BigBadBrad01 08:43, October 22, 2009 (UTC)
IMO "caroll shelby designs" is the proper name for the category, it is gooder english then "shelby cars". to me it does not suggest in any way that he was designing toys for mattel. Sinnin 10:14, October 22, 2009 (UTC)
I really think it's time I become an administrator. By the way, you should delete Paint Finishes because it contains personal references toward me.Fclass 14:57, October 24, 2009 (UTC)
The Paint Finishes category does need a lot of work. There are references to Fclass in it that maybe doesn't belong, but there are references to me also. All these should maybe be moved to the talk page for Paint Finishes. That way, the page can be worked on and images of the different paint finishes could be used to illustrate the article. I think too many Administrators spoil the soup. HaarFager 15:59, October 24, 2009 (UTC)

Finnaly did a version right, so I did it again check them out 1st is the world race version Muscle Tone and the other is the X-Games Switchback !!! :) JapSkylineDrifter 09:29, October 25, 2009 (UTC)

Good job. If you don't know the year, try to see if you can find it on [] or []. Also, I deleted the Switchback version you added because it was already on the list. Try to make sure you aren't adding duplicate versions...otherwise great job. BigBadBrad01 18:56, October 25, 2009 (UTC)

Hi Brad,

Wow, you guys have been doing a fantastic job here -- the wiki is looking brilliant!

I wanted to drop you a line because I've been contacted by Rob from website -- he is concerned that descriptions from the pages he has put a lot of work into are being copied word-for-word into this wiki. The example he gave me was and Convoy Custom.

Can you please keep an eye out for pages like this, and help to educate users about the perils of copying from elsewhere on the net? It appears in this case to be User:Fclass who did the copying.

Copyright and plagiarism are tricky issues for a wiki. Facts (such as the fact that a car was Dark Teal) cannot be copyrighted -- there's no problem with the notion that both websites describe the color of the car. However, the presentation of facts -- the sentences used, the word order, the layout: in short, the personal choices and creativity that went into that presentation -- those are copyrighted by default (and would be even if he didn't have a copyright notice on his website, which he does). Copying text verbatim (or tweaking it only slightly by expanding abbreviations and so on) violates the creator's copyright, and Wikia's terms of use.

Beyond legal issues, however, I'm sure you would like to maintain good relations with other Hot Wheels sites and enthusiasts. It's possible that the two sites can work together as sister sites, or some other beneficial arrangement. At the least, you should be crediting the southtexasdiecast site as the source of the material, with a "References" link at the bottom of the page, or a template like Template:Wikipedia -- at the most, it may be necessary to remove their text completely and rewrite the same facts in your own words. I fixed it, there were a few mistakes that im not sure how you made. But you did lose a "|" in the code so that threw off the table, just readded the missing line and moved the pic to the right place =P Sinnin 22:43, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

Blog post idea

Hello there! I am working on a blog post about wikis that are good for families, and want to include Hot Wheels Wiki. If you could share some information about the community and your efforts here, I would appreciate it. Thanks! --Sarah@fandom (talk 00:10, December 19, 2009 (UTC)

Come On

I know you and the other guy who's name I can't remember are doing a good job. But I think this wiki can use a new administrator like me to keep a balance here. Please nominate me. By the way, do some thing about J5 and Zelix. Fclass 15:05, December 28, 2009 (UTC)

Next time, show some initiative and contribute to the pages. I deleted the pages for now since they contained no real content. One more question, how exactly are you going to bring balance here? BigBadBrad01 02:44, December 29, 2009 (UTC)
I know I was acting like a jerk, but I am fair. I'll welcome new users. If they get out of line, I'll tell not to do anything disruptive like making nonsense articles such as Plastic sport bike. In this instance, I'll set things straight. By the way, the 2009 Citroen Rally Car is also known as Citroen C4 Rally, right? I saw second name at the Speed Machines (2010) article and I was just wondering. Fclass 19:26, December 29, 2009 (UTC)

Hi BBB01 just wanted to know what the codes (like B41, A13 ect.) on the base of the cars mean?Connor .D. 08:23, December 29, 2009 (UTC)

it is a production date starting in 2008. The letter is the year A=2008 B=2009 and the number is the week of the year 1-52. Example "B06" that would be a car made in february 2009. I think we need a code article! Sinnin 09:30, December 29, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for a quick answer!Connor .D. 11:49, December 29, 2009 (UTC) Yes, hm for example : Chevy Silverado have B40 and it is 2010 car. It was made in the week from 28.09 to 4.10. We need it! Hotwheelsforever 12:32, January 3, 2010 (UTC)

New PC5 Wheels

I noticed you changed the wheels on the Garage page to be called PC5. Is that what they are called? These have a similar look to the PC5 but unlike the original PC5 these are a real rider wheel. As far as i know these are brand new to the 2010 garage series. RRPC5 perhaps? Sinnin 13:20, January 7, 2010 (UTC)

Oh, I didn't know they were Real Riders, I thought they were PC5 wheels. Yeah, maybe just start a RRPC5 page. BigBadBrad01 15:06, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
Finally someone from HWC has given an official name for these wheels. They are called exotics. He didnt give a wheel code so im gonna guess it will be RRE..... now I have to change the pages again :( Sinnin 07:11, January 15, 2010 (UTC)

New classics

Im expecting my newest case of classics to arrive any day now. So far the series 5 have been labeled 2009, but clearly these are a 2010 release. to keep things tidy should i add them as 2009 recolors or label them 2010 and either seperate them from the already listed 2009 or add them in with the 2009 classics. Im thinking adding them as 2009 release would be best... but if they plan to run series 5 for a few more cases then.... well im confused. Thoughts or opinions?? Sinnin 13:28, January 16, 2010 (UTC) ....... did you ever get my reply on HWC? I have been having some PM problems

Hey David, the Classics are a line that doesn't run by the calendar year. To make things simple however, list these cars as 2009 because they are part of Series 5 which was originally released in 2009. Classics will run for another couple months but then thats it. BigBadBrad01 01:04, January 17, 2010 (UTC)
Even though I didn't get to see many in my local stores, I hate to see the Classic line go away. There were some pretty great castings throughout their 5-year run. I did happen to get lucky and find the 1972 Ford Ranchero just before Christmas. It wasn't on the regular peg where they belong but somehow I got lucky and found one tucked away behind some battle figures. I'll bet I wasn't supposed to be the one that found it there. One of these days, I'll try to get some of the others I thought were cool on eBay or someplace like that. I don't know why Mattel is discontinuing this great line! Doesn't everybody like them and don't they make scads of profit from them? Oh, well.... ours is not to reason why, I suppose. HaarFager 06:58, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

Editing yearly lists

Hey Brad, I see you noticed the 2006 Track Aces Stockar I added to it's casting page and "threaded" it to the "List of 2006" cars - thanks. I spent a few hours trying to figure out how to edit those pages with no luck. I'm hoping you can help me figure out how to do that so when I add a casting I can thread it all the way through.

Something else I can't figure out is how to do a link straight to the appropriate section. So instead of linking to the "list of 2006" link to the section of Track Aces. I tried viewing the code in the table of contents section but am not having any luck. It's frustrating and has kept me from doing more.

Any help would be appreciated. bob ranugad

Hey Bob! As far as linking to a specific part of the list, try this. List of 2006 Hot Wheels#2006 Bone Blazers Series
You have to be careful though because sometimes the links between the yearly pages aren't always the same. Hopefully this helps! BigBadBrad01 15:12, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

That worked. But if you go to the Dodge Tomahawk page and see, it looks sloppy(to me at least). Do you know if there is a way to "clean it up"?

And regarding the first request - back in July I added a pic of the FTE Hottub, but because I can't seem to interpret what I see when editing a list page, I couldn't link the picture to the 2006 List page. I'm guessing that's why Mgoch then uploaded another picture of an FTE Hottub to that page. I was planning on pulling out my 06 cars and filling in some gaps and really would like to link them to the list page and not just the category page. so if there's something simple I'm not doing in order to be able to edit those type(list) pages I'd love to know. And speaking of the 2006 FE category page, I'm wondering if the casting pages should be linked there, or to the List pages. I'm thinking the list pages would be more appropriate. If I'm not being clear, maybe we can have a conversation about it some weekend? I'll pm my number to you through HWC. bob ranugad 23:21, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

I just was checking out the casting page for '57 Chevy Bel Air - notice how the link is simply Bone Blazers Series (Bone Blazers Series) - there must be a redirect going on?

Based on your reply I would think it should read -

List of 2006 Hot Wheels#2006 Bone Blazers Series List of 2006 Hot Wheels#2006 Bone Blazers Series No?

I think I almost got the editing list thing down - I switched to my win 7 computer

ranugad 16:22, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

Hey Bob, okay I assumed you knew how to change the text from the link. Here is how you have a redirect link. Bone Blazers Series. You put the "|" (right above "enter" on your keyboard) in. This pretty much "disguises" the link. Inside of the double bracket, you put your link first and you text you want to appear after the "|". Hopefully this helps. Try it out on the Dodge Tomahawk page. I have confidence in you that you'll be able to fix it. BigBadBrad01 20:31, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

Cadillac CTS-V,Knight Rider 2008 and 2010 Random Casting

Hi,have you got the Cadillac CTS-V hot wheels ?

Have you seen the new Knight Rider with Justin Bruening and old with David Hasselhoff ? It is a pity that the mattel cannot made the 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am and 2008 ford Shelby GT500Kr like Hot Wheels.

Base Photos

Hello Triple B, i have an good idea for base codes and base color. We can add to all Hot Wheels photos of one or more bases.. Answer. Superman43 13:01, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

Very timely for this to pop up right now.I was just in the process of revamping the 56 Truck situation. The three different catagories of pickups need to seperated into thier own version pages. The Hightail Hauler series, from 1977 by Larry wood. The F100 Pickup series from 1999,don't know yet who,if anyone, gets credit for it.The Custon Ford Pickup series, from 2008.I think, right at the moment,Phil gets credit for that one. Some of the recent Issues fall into one or another if these catagories also.

Then just to cloud things up a little more, the 56 Ford Panel Truck also showed up in 1999.,.Which at that point in time shared the F100 designation also.Right at the moment I'm not sure if anyone gets credit for that or not.

These are four clearly distinct catagories that need to be individualy defined by their own page (version).I'm still doing research and will get up with you when it's complete. At that time I probanly will require your assistance .I've been working on it ,on and off,for a week or so.

I hope I have your approval ,as it will clear the air on some conflicting areas. Pirate4722 17:37, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

Hey Triple B,Upon further investigation,it was revealed that.Changing all that 56 stuff would be more confusing than good.So I guess I'll put it on the old "back buner" for now. ATB...Pirate4722 10:58, March 13, 2010 (UTC)

2010 New Models

Hello Triple B,what 2010 New Models you have?I think too the Global All Stars 1-8, because they are in International List as New Models Superman43 March 22, 14:13 (UTC)

I have all the 2010 New Models that are currently out and on the List of 2010 Hot Wheels. I also have a few of the Global All Stars like the Ferrari 430 Scuderia, Scirocco GT 24 & Lamborghini Gallardo. The List of 2010 Hot Wheels is built to how the cars are released in the USA. If you live in any other country, you should probably follow the List of 2010 Hot Wheels (International). BigBadBrad01 21:09, March 22, 2010 (UTC)

Yes, that I know.I have so 2010 international New Models: 67 Shelby Gt500 1/52, Scorcher 5/52, 10 Ford Shelby GT50 9/52, 09 Cadillac CTS-V 10/52, Lamborghini Gallardo 12/52, 14/52, 16/52, 21/52, 23/52,, 26/52, 33/52, 38/52, 50/52, 51/52. And I looks for Snow Ride and the Citroen C4 Rally in the small cases.

Technical Specs

Lately there has been an influx of 2-cent'ers adding the technical specs to the cars. personally I hate this as it has little relevence to hot wheels. Many of the muscle cars also have multiple engine options. but the icing on the cake is the tech specs on the original design cars. I know these specs are fabricated by the marketing team and printed on the cards for the kids to marvel over, but on this site they seriously turn us into the laughing stock of the hot wheels community. I have removed a few, but they just get re-added. I have slowed down my contributions by about 90% because this is all so disgusting to me. (yes i know thats childish and ignorant) But i beg you please.... its time for an intervention. Lets keep this about Hot Wheels facts!! Sinnin 20:27, March 27, 2010 (UTC)

Hey David,I was somewhat curious as to their validity, myself!

Pirate4722 21:07, March 27, 2010 (UTC)

OK,Triple B.I just very uexSPECtidly.Deleted that business from Rocket Box.However I believe I've had enough of yesterday. That's all I've got to report.

Pirate4722 09:42, March 28, 2010 (UTC)

Hey guys, give me time to look a little more into this. From what I understand, this info is on the back of the blister cards? Is that true? If it is, its ok to have it on the wiki because it is written Mattel verbiage, but I'm thinking that since its not of a real importance, we can throw these underneath the versions tables. What do you guys think about this? BigBadBrad01 20:45, March 28, 2010 (UTC)
Triple B,spurious information is what it is.Especially on a sight that emphasizes minute detail,as we do.Also as you say it is unnecessary.

Pirate4722 23:06, March 28, 2010 (UTC)

I understand what your saying about "if its on the card its ok". But I think its wrong to permanently attach some made up jibberish, from the mattel packaging team. Especially onto casting that were introduced possibly before they were born (EG. twinmill). These current made up stats will soon disappear and we will never see them again, just as soon as the cards make there next change. Perhaps the main reason i hate all this, is the users doing it. there is a few of them, and i get the feeling its the same person with multiple user names. they are all annonomys with thier edits and have yet to add a single fact about any hot wheel car or variation. All the edits that are made are all done exactly the same way. I disagree with some of you regulars from time to time but at least, you all stand up to my rants and debate your cause. And it is obvious to everyone that we are true collectors. These people leave me with doubts that they even own any hot wheels cars. Sinnin 11:29, March 29, 2010 (UTC)
I see what you are saying and completely agree. Lets start phasing these out "Technical Specs" out with the reasoning that these specs do not apply to Hot Wheels cars. I'll help but feel free to take it into your own hands and I'll back you up. I'll try to warn anyone who does not comply and keeps adding this gibberish. BigBadBrad01 01:51, March 31, 2010 (UTC)
Brad, do you also feel it applies in situations like what I did for the '57 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham page? I 'll admit, it's a little different than the above singled out exceptions. But, I felt it helped show just why it was chosen to be a Hot Wheels vehicle. HaarFager 06:15, March 31, 2010 (UTC)
Kenny that is a well writen description that does not destract from the rest of the page. And thank you Brad, I have just breathed a large sigh of relief!! (insert thumbs up smiley here) Sinnin 06:48, March 31, 2010 (UTC)
I thought those technical specifications looked kind of obtrusive myself. They're nice, in their own way, but I don't feel it's what we're looking for on the Hot Wheels Wiki. HaarFager 07:40, March 31, 2010 (UTC)
I couldn't agree with you guys more! BigBadBrad01 08:10, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Moon Disc

On the moon disc page the photo uploaded by teagray is exactly the same as the one on south texas (since they are both blackwall), so i think its safe to say thats where it came from. Also i thought i remember these wheels being called lake disc on the the HWC showroom page for the ratbomb. Sinnin 02:20, April 13, 2010 (UTC)

Hey David, I think I may have heard both terms thrown around. I'm good with either. Let's try to find what HWC called it. On the other hand, I'm not 100% sure the image was stolen, but if it was we can take it down. Until then, lets leave it up until we can get a better image. BigBadBrad01 06:25, April 13, 2010 (UTC)
It's my opinion that the image uploaded by teagray and the image found on STD, is one and the same. We should replace ours as soon as possible. As to the names, lake discs were the first name used when they were developed for racing on the salt flats. But, when they filtered down into street usage, they became known as "Moon discs." This is also where the term "baby moons" got it's start; from miniature "moon" or "lake" discs. I'd say we ought to go with Moon discs like Brad started the page as. It's the name they're more commonly known by. HaarFager 15:14, April 13, 2010 (UTC)
I always thought they were called moon disc cause of the company that makes them "moon eyes"? Any ways mattel calls them real rider lake disc wheels, here's the link hope that works I'm responding from my phone. Perhaps they went with the lake disc name to avoid any licencing fees with moon eyes. Sinnin 01:40, April 14, 2010 (UTC)
Good evening gentleman.Allow me,if you will,to contribute to this post.As I recall the "MQQN EYES" have always been the MOON EQ.CO.logo.That would be in about the late 50's.I can't really remember having seen The Dimple in the middle. However the original "MOONS" as they were referred to were a full wheel cover that was slightly higher in the center. They tapered toward the rim at probably a 10' angle and were produced from brushed aluminum. The taper may be the concept the dimple represents. They were first produced for the "Lakesters" at Bonneville. They were the,Big Boss With The HotSauce, for quite sometime.I was always under the conception that the smaller chrome hub covers 'Baby MOONS' were introduced to stimulate MOONS' product line. Also they were less expensive (much) and were more adaptable to 'Street Rods',And looked really cool.I had a set on my 40 in about 1962.Correct,I wasn't old enough to drive (legally} yet. That's the way I recall it.Of course that was only about 50 years ago,it may not be 100% accurate.Pirate4722 02:54, April 14, 2010 (UTC)
I think the "dimple" shows in these simply because it's cheaper for Mattel to run the axle all the way through the wheel. But, Pirate is right. They were practically flat, brushed aluminium and they covered the whole wheel. It was an early attempt at aerodynamics to allow the cars to attain all the speed possible on the Bonneville Salt Flats. So, maybe they should be called Lake Discs, especially if that's what Mattel officially called them. HaarFager 12:28, April 14, 2010 (UTC)
Excellent...Excellent rejoinder Kenny.Very sound observation,and keen advice!!!

My Latest rant

I seem to be excelling at complaining lately, so i present you with my latest complaint!! Teegray has failed in all attempts at making positive contributions. It's the one in the box

Please delete a picture I added!

Thank you for welcoming me. I am new here.

I probably rushed into it and tried to add a picture of preying menance to the 2006 List. It did not work out, and I can't remove it. Please remove it, because it messed up the page a bit. I apologize for it, and will stay away from editing anything here.

I truly enjoy this site and wanted to contribute.

Again I am sorry, and I hope I did not cause too much trouble.

It is fixed. I wouldnt get discouraged, The format for pages like the 2006 list are tricky to work on. Its best to start with user friendly pages like the actual casting pages. -David- Sinnin 00:56, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

In Reference to 71 GTX K-Day

Sorry I overlooked that one.I actually wasn't aware of that fact or I would have included it when I redid that section! Pirate4722 03:46, May 14, 2010 (UTC)

Max Steel 5-Pack (1) & (2)

Hi Brad, in my collection I have two different 5-pack of Max Steel from 2008 (N2086 and N2092, apparently available only in Brazil). If these packs are interesting for your 'small collection' I'll try to get one of each for you.

Hey, is your name Carlos? I am only looking for the Max Steel 5-Pack (1), because I collect the Seared Tuner and do not have that one yet. If you could pick me up one I will reimburse you for all shipping and regular costs. Thanks! BigBadBrad01 07:14, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
Brad, do you need only Seared Tuner or all the 5-pack? Please send your address to my e-mail ( Thanks. Carlos Livi 07:57 am, June 9, 2010 (GMT -3:00)
Hey Carlos, did you pick one up for me? If you did I'll reimburse you but if you were just going to send me one of yours, please hold onto it. I was able to just complete a deal for one, so I think I am good. Thank you so much for your kindness. Are you from Brazil? If so, let me know if there is anything you need that was only released in the US and I'll be glad to send it your way. BigBadBrad01 00:24, June 11, 2010 (UTC)

2011 hot wheels list

Hello BBB.. now that going the newest 2011 Hot Wheels out (Danicar,Ford Shelby GT-500 Super Snake,Baja Bug, 56 Ford ..), we must make a provizor 2011 hot wheels list. Superman43 10:31, August 28, 2010 (UTC)

We will make the list as soon as we get more info on the 2011 Line. a couple sneek peek images are anything but definitive. and creating a list at this time would be premature. We will have a list before the 2011s hit the stores (ebay line pulls excluded) Sinnin  talk  Contributions 09:13, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

viper gts

Check online on or, they have Vipers all the time. You can also hit up local toy shows. All of the Viper GTS shouldn't cost more than $10 a piece. BigBadBrad01 18:22, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

Help Please

It Has Come to my attention that User:Connor mcmahon is actually User:Power Rocket. Power Rocket has been Banned previously for uploading images from STD. He is now back and doing the same thing. Along with creating grief with everything else he does around here. A longer time out would be much appreciated!! Sinnin  talk  Contributions 20:14, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

I gave him a 3-day ban for not listening to Serralson's advice. Thanks for the 2011 pix. Its nice to have some that aren't copyrighted. haha BigBadBrad01 17:45, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
Hi Brad. Unfortunately there are users who apparently do not learn. After the end of the period of three days User:Connor mcmahon. He has returned to the same. Putting photos that are not yours. I have found that of 10 photos uploaded, there is no yours. And there's more. 4 pictures are taken from a German website. I do not know if this may pose a problem, but I think this one would have to stop. To avoid future trouble.I warn you again. But I doubt that makes me some kind of case. 2006 Classics #6 1965 Mustang

stuntBrad Hi

I’m trying to list on eBay Many Hot Wheels… I’m trying to understand the meaning of (Green) “tampo reversed” vs. “correct tampo”?

What you recommend me to do: list on eBay each car or combine all series? Where I could fine a updated price list?

Thx for your help

Hi David, I'm not 100% sure what you are asking but I will try to answer to the best of my abilities. In the [2006 Classics, the Spectraflame Green '65 Mustang Hardtop was released with is originally an error that turned into a variation. The "Mustang" script on the side of the car was put on backwards. As far as eBay, common cars will sell easier if you group them together. Harder to get cars will sell for more if you sell them individually. Hope this helps! BigBadBrad01 20:12, October 14, 2010 (UTC)

2011 Garage

I was thinking of seperating the 2011 garage series to its own unique page, moving 2010 to a 2010 page and creatieng a disambiguation with the actual garage page. (what a mouthful) any objections? Sinnin  talk  Contributions 04:57, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

No objections here. I really dislike this new wiki skin by the way. GRRRRR BigBadBrad01 02:00, November 2, 2010 (UTC)
I actually like the look of the home page. but there are definate issues with the fixed width on the internals. as well as some missing navigation links. (eg. special page list and also talk page history) My edits have been slim lately as i have been observing the debates between WoWWiki and wikia (who have now split ways) But in an effort to keep them from leaving, Wikia upped their fixed width (because they determined that warcraft players have better computers, and can handle a higher resolution page width) Compare WoWWiki pages to ours. Anyways i have been busy asking them to change our width to match their's.... hoping the squeeky wheel gets the oil!! Sinnin  talk  Contributions 08:27, November 2, 2010 (UTC)

Community Forum

Hi Brad, over on the Matchbox Wikia ( there's a "Community" Tab with a "forum" drop-down option. Could you have this same feature added to the Hot Wheels wikia? Vista69 04:02, November 20, 2010 (UTC)

Hey there. I was trying to add the 3 Window 34 #257 with 3SP wheels in silver with yellow/red flames to the 1998 Hot Wheels list. I had previously updated it to 1998 in the "3 Window 34" Versions page. It had been listed as a 95 issue. There is a 7SP version as well also listed as 95, but since I dont have that and thus cant confirm whether its 95 or 98 I didnt update it.

Anyway, I couldnt add the picture correctly to the 98 listings page, so I deleted it, but it deleted ALL of the pictures on the 98 page. I have reposted all of the deleted pics save for the 1998 Hot Wheels Blue Catagory that caused me all this mess. Ill continue to repost the remaining deleted pics but the 3 Window 34 needs to be added to the top of the 1998 Hot Wheels Blue catagory. Im clearly not savvy enough to figure it out, so I ask that you do, please.

FalconGTHO 21:44, November 27, 2010 (UTC)

I stepped in and got it returned back with the pictures back into the list Vista69 03:28, November 28, 2010 (UTC)
K great, thanks. However, what did you do so I know how to fix any mess I cause the next time? Also, I still want to get that 3 Window 34 placed at the top of that Blue catagory. So, how do I insert it, add a cell, w/e?
FalconGTHO 03:32, November 28, 2010 (UTC)
I repaired the page by going into the edit mode of an old correct page, then copied the code and pasted it in place of the page that was missing the pics. Normally I could just go and "undo" an incorrect edit, but it wasn't letting me because of your previous edits.Vista69 03:57, November 28, 2010 (UTC)
About the 3-Window '34 page,,, I don't understand why you want to change the silver 7-spoke variation to a 1998 release. Do you have one in a package with a 1997 date on the back of the card? Vista69 03:57, November 28, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I do, thats why. And Im talking about 1998, not 97. I dont have a 7 spoke, but I do have the three spoke with the 30th Anniversary logo, "Look for the 1998 First Ediitions..." & the 1998 Collector Poster Mail In offer all on the back, as well as having the stylized Ferrariesque Celicaesque blue car in 3/4 rear view on the front as opposed to the back 1/4 of the blue car from the side view with fiery tire smoke as seen on packages from at least 95 & 96. I would expect the 7 spoke is the same, but as mentioned I dont have one so Im not going to insist it be moved, but it likely should be. Additionally, I was coming back to revise this for another casting as well. Ive updated the #503 80s Corvette in Metallic red with Saw Blades on that casting page for the same reason. I have the Lace Wheel with 96 packaging. I have a 3SP loose but have the package, but its packed away & Im not going to bother to dig it up till later. The Saw Blade should be placed at the top of the 1998 Hot Wheels Blue catagory as well for the same reason as the 3 Window. Im certainly not going to arbitrarily & randomly make changes just for the sake of it.

Read More feature

Brad. I tried to have wikia disable the Read More feature at the bottom of every page. They told me I needed a majority vote or a bureaucrat (you) to request the changes. Please sign my petition at Read More feature and i will resubmit the request. thanks! Sinnin  talk  Contributions 09:27, February 2, 2011 (UTC)

2011 Selections

Brad: I created a stub page for the 2011 sELECTIONS. I tried to follow suit with the previous sELECTIONS pages you created, But the 4-way vote used this year does not seem to work with the elimination tree template. If you know how to adjust the template, or know of a better template please help. Thanks Sinnin  talk  Contributions 23:17, March 1, 2011 (UTC)

New test feature: Classifieds

Hi there! I'm Dopp, a member of Wikia's Community Support Team. Today we're enabling a Classifieds system on your wiki as a test feature (you'll see it in the sidebar of article pages). This is an early stage test -- we just want to see how it works -- so please bear with us for a few months while we evaluate its potential. If you love the feature (or hate it, or wish it was better), let me know! You can leave feedback on my talk page. Thanks for maintaining such a great wiki! --Dopp WikiaStaff.png (help forum | blog) 22:20, June 7, 2011 (UTC)
