Hot Wheels Cutoff Canyon Playset

Why do you want to keep deleting pages with no information? It's a valid page and someday, somebody may have the information to fill in on this page. It's like you go around creating pages for cars that haven't been released yet and the page is basically blank. Should others go around and add delete tags for those pages? Blank pages can be in anticipation of the information that might follow soon. Kenny HaarFager (talk) 16:25, October 30, 2015 (UTC)

@HaarFager: I am not sure why why I marked that page for deletion...I'm sorry that I did. If you create pages before the casting comes out, it makes it much easier when the whole case comes out. You have 10 new cars and are not as busy because you have some already done. Thanks. Thehotwheelsguy99Talk! 17:07, October 30, 2015 (UTC)

Learn To Use The History Tab At The Top Of The Page

I see you have "Removed unneeded row" from the CAT Road Roller page. If you will read through the history of a page, you will be able to tell who made which edits to a page. I put that extra description coding in the table of lots of pages so as to help new users and any user who comes to add a new description to the page. With the blank descripstion already there, all they have to do is add in the information. So, do not go around removing these lines that I spent my time adding in. I am sorry. I didn't notice that. ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) 23:08, September 19, 2015 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to the Hot Wheels Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Porsche 934 Turbo RSR page.

Chances are, if you're here, you love Hot Wheels like we do. That's why we like to greet new users personally and provide a few handy suggestions to get them up to speed on how this particular wiki operates. In no time at all, you'll be helping to add to the knowledge base. And now for the tips:

 • When leaving messages on discussion pages, always finish them by typing ~~~~. This automatically adds your username to the comment so everyone will know who it came from, and when.
 • When making edits to pages, please leave a short note as to what it was you did. There is a space at the bottom of each page you're editing just for this feature. This helps the other users and the administrators so that they can know at a glance any new changes. You can see all the new changes yourself by clicking on the "recent changes" link found on the left of every page.
 • You should always try to make new pages look like the pages already created. That way, they will all look uniform and the information they contain will always be in the same place. This makes it easier on everybody to find things.
 • For information about how to do wiki-related things, check out the FAQ for more tricks.
 • If you would like tips on photographing Hot Wheels, just about anything you might need to know can be found by clicking on this link: Tips On How To Photograph Hot Wheels.

And lastly, if you have any questions or suggestions, please leave a message on my talk page and I'll see if I can help! HaarFager (talk) 00:48, August 26, 2015 (UTC)

Enjoy the Hot Wheels Wiki!

Thanks!! ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 (ℸαℓķ!) 17:14, September 1, 2015 (UTC)

You should not replace loose images with carded one all ready there. Loose images take priority over carded one. Editing rules are there for a reason. Carded first than Loose and than if a better image of a loose image can go on.

Nerdo921 (talk)

Ok. I'm sorry. I didn't know that. ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 (ℸαℓķ!) 12:45, September 6, 2015 (UTC)

Thumbnail Coding

I just wanted to let you know to stop using thumbnail coding in the tables. It does not belong there. It takes people like me a long time to go around and remove this spurious coding when we could be doing something else. So, try to remember not to use thumbnail coding in the various tables that tell about the different versions of the cars. Kenny HaarFager (talk) 22:25, September 8, 2015 (UTC)

@HaarFager I am sorry. I do not know how to get it off. I just use the Classic Editor and click something like "Add media." If I use the source editor, that takes a long time to do stuff with. How can I make it quit? ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 (ℸαℓķ!) 22:28, September 8, 2015 (UTC)
I don't really know what you're talking about. I just click the link at the top of each page that says, "edit this page." Then I go in and add whatever image I have to add, using the code already used by all the other pictures. If your edit doesn't look like everybody else's on the page, you did something wrong and undo it. Kenny HaarFager (talk) 22:51, September 8, 2015 (UTC)
Hmm...Are you using HTML to do it? I just use standard text... ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 (ℸαℓķ!) 22:53, September 8, 2015 (UTC)
@ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 It's very simple: switch to "Classic editor" and after that to "source mode". When in source mode search for the picture you added:

[ [Image:New_Picture_Of_A_Hot_Wheels_Car.JPG|75x75px]]

This is the line you added by adding a picture. Above or:

[ [Image:New_Picture_Of_A_Hot_Wheels_Car.JPG|thumb|left|75x75px]]

Or something like the above sentence. You should change both of those to:

[ [Image:New_Picture_Of_A_Hot_Wheels_Car.JPG|75px]]

Standard size of a photo for a page of a casting is 75px and for a wheel on a wheel page is 100px. So your code should look like this:

[ [Image:New_Picture_Of_A_Hot_Wheels_Car.JPG|75px]]

Stephan3321 (talk) 20:55, September 9, 2015 (UTC)

@Stephan3321 I am sorry. I didn't notice that it was doing it until I was notified. I have figured out how to do it. Thanks for your info. :D ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 (ℸαℓķ!) 20:59, September 9, 2015 (UTC)

FYI Datsun 260Z already exists. This is a test 86 (talk) 20:52, September 9, 2015 (UTC)

What are you talking about?? ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 (ℸαℓķ!) 21:00, September 9, 2015 (UTC)
Wait a second. Do you mean the Kaido 260Z? But that is a new model...never produced before... ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 (ℸαℓķ!) 21:01, September 9, 2015 (UTC)
The news about the Datson 260Z has come before. And someone else already made the page for the car. The name you gave it "Kaido" is the name given by the fan community.Stephan3321 (talk) 21:17, September 9, 2015 (UTC)
You created both Datsun 260Z and Kaido 260Z. They are the same thing. This is a test 86 (talk) 21:19, September 9, 2015 (UTC)
Oh, shoot. I'll put the delete tag on the Kaido one in a minute. ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 (ℸαℓķ!) 21:20, September 9, 2015 (UTC)
And this is exactly why I'm not a fan of the fact that the pages are created so early. It could be a very good custom that news sites are believing to be a real one. Why create pages so early. Why not wait until they are out to the public of officialy released? You do not gain status of honor is you're the first one to create a page.Stephan3321 (talk) 21:22, September 9, 2015 (UTC)
I know. I am not trying to do that. I am just trying to make this Wiki a better place for collectors. I mean...if nobody posted about them until they came out, how would collectors know what the newest Treasure Hunt is so they can be prepared?(Or something like that) ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 (ℸαℓķ!) 21:26, September 9, 2015 (UTC)
Good point. In that case: keep up the good work!Stephan3321 (talk) 21:27, September 9, 2015 (UTC)
Really? Or are you just being sarcastic...I'm confused. ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 (ℸαℓķ!) 21:28, September 9, 2015 (UTC)
No, I really think you are doing a good job. Just make sure to also change that standard line:
This Hot Wheels vehicle has come out in the following 1/64 scale versions:

The INSERT CAR NAME HERE come out in the following 1/64 scale versions:

Except for that you are doing a good job!Stephan3321 (talk) 21:32, September 9, 2015 (UTC)

Why thank you. You are doing great too. :D I will remember to do that. Thanks!! ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 (ℸαℓķ!) 21:39, September 9, 2015 (UTC)

another edit needed on all new pages

at the bottom you will see { { DEFAULTSORT:Casting Name } } "Casting Name" should be changed to the casting's name and car names that begin with a number need a # sign first. Patty's Hot Wheels (talk) 23:14, September 9, 2015 (UTC)

Ok. Is that when you create a new page only? ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 (ℸαℓķ!) 00:05, September 10, 2015 (UTC)
when you use the casting page template, it starts with "Casting Name" - it needs to match the casting's name, sooner or later. Better when the page is first created. Not all are done right away. There's probably more not right.Patty's Hot Wheels (talk) 05:34, September 10, 2015 (UTC)
I have been using it from what I you mean where it says This Hot Wheels Vehicle has come out in the following 1/64 scale versions? Where you put the car's name in where it has it in italicized text? ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 (ℸαℓķ!) 22:20, September 13, 2015 (UTC)
no. Look at the difference in the datsun 260Z.

Awhile ago? On Sep 11, just 3 days ago, you created the Side Ripper differenceand Stephan3321 edited the page 14 minutes later. And I see no pages edited by you to indicate you understand the Default Sort code. Did you follow the link I provided for the difference in the Datsun page? The link in this edit by me, is for the Side Ripper changes made by Stephan - please follow the link and notice all the edits made. And I'm not sure what you think I need, let alone why? BTTF Hover Mode

Hey. I’m a big BTTF fan but new to the Hot Wheels wikia. Perhaps you could help me understand why the Retro Entertainment version of the “Hover Mode” Time Machine doesn’t belong on the Back to the Future Time Machine - Hover Mode page? (Your “Error Fixed” comment wasn’t much help I’m afraid.) Tonyruscoe (talk) 21:11, September 15, 2015 (UTC)
I'm not really sure why we need another page either...I am just going with the flow. So...sorry I can't help you. ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 (ℸαℓķ!) 21:59, September 15, 2015 (UTC)
What do you mean you can't help Tonyruscoe? You're the one who deleted the Entertainment version from the BTTF Hover Mode page. Why was it deleted in the first place? I just added it back in. The Hover Mode has a different page because it is a completely new and separate casting from the BTTF Time Machine from 2011. This is a test 86 (talk) 05:09, September 16, 2015 (UTC)

That's a Custom Hot Wheel that somebody made, That doesn't belong in the VW Bug page. That would go in the custom page where people add photos of Hot Wheels they modified.

And no to the image size, it is still 75px.

I am going to take a stand as one of the administrators here and ask you to stop posting images that are not yours. You may claim to have permission, but without proof, they can no longer be allowed. Asking you to provide proof for each and every image added is way too cumbersome for us. Post your images and that is all please. I am not trying to argue with you...but when you upload a pictures, it asks what kind of licensing to put it under. I put the ones I have permission to upload under "This image is copyrighted, but use is permitted by the copyrighted holder." It then will say below the image

"This image is allowed for use only on the Hot Wheels Wiki - Image used with permission. Owner retains copyright and ownership."

I will stop uploading images that are not mine. As you stated above, I am not the owner of HW Treasure; I lied. I have stopped uploading from there after I read the Editing Rules and Guidelines. I only uploaded pictures I had permission from the owner to use. Cheers! ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) 01:00, September 17, 2015 (UTC)

Snowflake Edition

Actually the Snowflake card are mainlines. It's just that one store (Kmart or Kroger or Walmart or whatever store) gets different cards for mainlines for the holidays. So, for example, the 24 Ours is a mainline car on a store exclusive card. Stephan3321 (talk) 14:52, September 30, 2015 (UTC)

But it wouldn't have a spot in the mainline because it has no collector number. ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) (

Toy number/SKU on template

It is my understanding that "Number" on the casting templates has always referred to the toy number/SKU. It makes no sense to put the collector number because collector numbers do not reference specific castings. Toy numbers/SKUs always reference a specific casting though, regardless of series. This is the system that Mattel uses internally to identify castings. Whenever a new casting debuts, that initial toy number/SKU is used to identify it throughout its lifetime. This Wiki is not associated with Mattel so you can't report me for undoing your colors here... ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) • (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) • (Special:Editcount/Thehotwheelsguy99 + ᵉᵈ'ᵗˢ!) 01:43, October 21, 2015 (UTC)

I can report you to Wiki. I'm adding accurate information on behalf of the manufacturer and you keep undoing my edits. I'm sure there's a Wiki policy against this. Stop it. your name Gary Barnum? ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) • (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) • (Special:Editcount/Thehotwheelsguy99 + ᵉᵈ'ᵗˢ!) 02:03, October 21, 2015 (UTC)

Yes, that is actually me. I get that you don't feel YOU need the detailed color names, but there is a difference and it adds a level of detail that others may enjoy, and WE would prefer to have the accurate information out there whenever possible. In this case, it is possible -- I have this info, and I have been adding it in whenever I have a chance for a little while now with no problems until now.

Oh, fine. I didn't know who you were until now...just thought it meant you have a HWC account. Guess you are right then. ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) • (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) • (Special:Editcount/Thehotwheelsguy99 + ᵉᵈ'ᵗˢ!) 02:08, October 21, 2015 (UTC)

lol, thanks. So I can continue working unobstructed now? It would be nice - I was going to be done an hour ago. ;)

Sure. Is there any way I can help? ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) • (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) • (Special:Editcount/Thehotwheelsguy99 + ᵉᵈ'ᵗˢ!) 02:10, October 21, 2015 (UTC)

Well, you never know... For the moment, it's helpful if I only have to add the correct color name one time. ;) But if you want to help, I'll see if there's anything I can ask you to do, if you really want to. There are certainly a lot of things that could be tightened up on here. :)

I'd love to help. It's a little boring clicking the Random Page button all day... ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) • (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) • (Special:Editcount/Thehotwheelsguy99 + ᵉᵈ'ᵗˢ!) 02:15, October 21, 2015 (UTC)
Hey, do you know who the designers are for some of the recent (2013-2016) models are? There are a lot of empty spaces for these. ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) • (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) • (Special:Editcount/Thehotwheelsguy99 + ᵉᵈ'ᵗˢ!) 02:21, October 21, 2015 (UTC)

I can get that info, and I do put it in when I notice it's missing. You want to help out? Give me a list of ANY Hot Wheels entries you find that don't have the Designer and I will do my best to track it down and add it. You can email me directly at - that will be easier for me than this.

Oh my. That would be a great help!!!!! I will start making a list now...if you want, check out my sandbox every once-in-a-while and I'll make a list there. Thanks!!! ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) • (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) • (Special:Editcount/Thehotwheelsguy99 + ᵉᵈ'ᵗˢ!) 02:25, October 21, 2015 (UTC)
Ok. I have it set up so you can just click here and it will send you to the list I've made so far. ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) • (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) • (Special:Editcount/Thehotwheelsguy99 + ᵉᵈ'ᵗˢ!) 02:34, October 21, 2015 (UTC)

I saw your conversation with Gary and thought of a possibly easier way to make a list of cars without designer information - create a new category - "Designer info missing". Going through the lists of new releases, first editions, and first released would be a great start. Another project desparately needed, but I haven't had the time to start, is adding cars from 5 packs that don't appear on the castings individual pages. Bunches of 5 packs were done without individual entries posted to their pages. There's a few in 2012 and more in 2013. Patty's Hot Wheels (talk) 16:15, October 21, 2015 (UTC)

That would be a great idea. I will start the category now... ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) • (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) • (Special:Editcount/Thehotwheelsguy99 + ᵉᵈ'ᵗˢ!) 17:01, October 21, 2015 (UTC)

Olds 442 W-30 vs '68 Olds Cutlass Convertible

The convertible Olds you added is not the Olds 442 W-30. It is the '68 Olds Cutlass Convertible for the Hot Wheels Heritage series. This is a test 86 (talk) 03:02, October 24, 2015 (UTC) it's going to be in the Heritage series? At T-Hunted blogspot they said it was the Olds 442 W-30...? ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) • (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) • (Special:Editcount/Thehotwheelsguy99 + ᵉᵈ'ᵗˢ!) 13:09, October 24, 2015 (UTC)
This is why using Thunted for a source is iffy at best. They do not know what they are talking about most of the time. The Olds 442 W-30 has never been a convertible. Ever. Think about it. The Olds 442 is going to be in a series called "HW Daredevils", a series which includes cars for demolition derbies and stunts. Now look at the car they refer to. It's a convertible that says "Official Pace Car". Does that tampo make sense for this series? Hardly. Don't believe everything they post.
I'm 100% sure that the Olds 442 being used in the 2016 mainline will be this, the lifted version. This is a test 86 (talk) 13:43, October 25, 2015 (UTC)
I see now, ok. I didn't really look at that. Although T-Hunted may not be always correct, it is a good source for information. ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) • (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) • (Special:Editcount/Thehotwheelsguy99 + ᵉᵈ'ᵗˢ!) 18:04, October 25, 2015 (UTC)

So Plowed changes

Why did you remove the image I placed as the primary image? This was the first image used for this casting. I would think have an image is better than having no image at all.

Cheers, Pete

Hello Pete. I replaced the image with an image of 4 different So Plow models. Sometimes it looks better that way. From what I noticed you then replaced the image with a photo of a prototype that was in the gallery below. It sometimes looks better with a bunch of different variations in the photo. Thanks, Thehotwheelsguy99Talk! 15:08, October 30, 2015 (UTC)

i will post some of the missing pictures for the Ford GT-40 Wiki and Ford GT-LM Wiki into the gallery .

hope that helps to update this section of HW-Wiki .
