Ford Transit Van

Hello, I believe this pic should dispel any doubts about the Ford Transit Van It is an Auto City Series casting and therefore technically a Hot Wheels version, the picture is from Global Diecast Direct's Online shop, note the Mattel labeling on the packet.

The example pic you provided was not adequate, but was able to find one in HW packaging on hobbydb. This is a test 86 (talk) 03:36, September 19, 2017 (UTC)

There's a difference between them because of the packaging? Isn't the Auto City Series still the same, regardless of whether it says "Corgi" or "Hot Wheels" on the base or packet? I have the Mercedes-Benz Bus as the gallery shows, but on the page it clearly states the base carries over from the corgi models of the late 1980s. I was able to get over the summer months an Auto City 3-pack where the cars are issued with Corgi bases and the package saying "Hot Wheels Auto City" but that doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Same cars, same branding, but with "Hot Wheels" In lieu of the old Corgi branding. Back to the Bus I mentioned, I have found pics with that casting having the same packet as the Transit Van aforementioned. Actually, even my Refuse Truck (Corgi) that I created the page for had the same packaging when new. (I was actually disappointed when I found that out because I was hoping for something from the Rare Corgi "Freeway Series").

Anyways, Thank you for your time and I am glad we were able to work this out without this devolving into a sparring match. Also, I will let you know when (if) I ever get the chance to get a quality pic of my Auto City 3-pack taken. (emphasis on quality, as in I can't post anything too blurry or low grade Like I have done previously.)

Camouflage Truck Series

Hi This is a test 86. I just wanted to thank you for moving the series, but when I created it is was its own page but was informed to move it there by an admin. And the original location was removed. So just wanted to let you know why it was there.ANDREW NEWCOMER (talk) 23:20, September 11, 2017 (UTC)

Admin

Hi, This is a test 86. It seems that HaarFager took my admin rights away. May I ask you to re-add them? Right now there are just two admins (actively) available. I think this Wiki could use at least three active admins due to the new members signing up every day. HaarFager removed the abillities because of some disagreement he had with one of my edits, without explaining which edit or giving me the chance to explain the edit. Let's make the Wiki a better place ;) Right now I can not change the faulty names of images from new members or edits like that. Thank you in advance. Stephan3321 (talk) 12:02, August 11, 2017 (UTC)

Hi, did you see this message? If so, can you respond? Stephan3321 (talk) 11:40, August 28, 2017 (UTC)

Be careful what you delete.

Why you deleted the Liberty Promotions page? Miguelalegria (talk) 18:56, August 9, 2015 (UTC)

Liberty Promotions buses are not a Mattel product. They're essentially customs. This is a test 86 (talk)

It is a page of information. and it is fine where it is. Miguelalegria (talk) 19:18, August 9, 2015 (UTC)

respect others

You have very little respect for others, save drafts and Sharpen the pencil. Miguelalegria (talk) 16:15, August 17, 2015 (UTC)

How so? Was my reasoning not valid in regards to that page? It constitutes original research and is primarily based on someone's opinion. It is not built upon facts. That list is an example of fancruft. See the following link.

2016 Mainline

Hi,

It seems like I want to do something that you don't want and you want to do something I don't want.

I do understand that none of us know how the 2016 mainline will look like so far, but all I want to do is to 'set up' the mainline totalling 250 with 10 car segments by default and adding cars when they're confirmed like getting a new computer and setting up before adding programs and other stuff. It would be a waste of time to add the segments again when there are informations confirmed. It wouldn't be much of a difference just by making minimal changes to the segments such as breaking up the segments into 5's.

I'm not trying to make you mad for constantly undoing your changes.

It is annoying with all of those "NA" boxes.

Stop undoing my edits

Hello. I have noticed you have undone almost all of my edits on different Hot Wheels pages. Why are you doing it? ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 (ℸαℓķ!) 17:20, September 3, 2015 (UTC)

All the 2016's are from a specific seller on ebay. All of the 2016's do not have a watermark. This is a test 86 (talk) 18:44, September 3, 2015 (UTC)
I don't watermark my eBay photos. I only watermarked my HWtreasure.com photos for my sebsite name to be on them. ℸℎℯℎℴℸωℎℯℯℓşℊμϒ99 (ℸαℓķ!) 22:43, September 3, 2015 (UTC)
Which brings us to the following questions then: How are you getting 2016 US Cards early? Does that mean you are ebay seller "jenni_collectibles_and_more"? If that is so, why don't your pictures on both hwtreasure.com and ebay match? Why is it that hwtreasure.com has a mix of international cards and US cards, but your ebay page only has US cards. Your talk page says you live in Rockford, IL. Ebay store with the 2016 cards is based out of Plano, TX. Something's not adding up.  This is a test 86 (talk) 23:38, September 3, 2015 (UTC)

New pages and Default sort

I see you've been creating lots of new casting pages. Just a note. If you leave the { {DEFAULTSORT:Casting Name} }, when you click on categories, it will not appear in it's righful place - alphabetically. You need to put the casting name there.Patty's Hot Wheels (talk) 00:48, September 9, 2015 (UTC)

Back to the Future Time Machine - Hover Mode

Hey. I’m a big BTTF fan but new to the Hot Wheels wikia. I appreciate that the new Hover Mode model is a separate casting, but I figured the Back to the Future Time Machine page was just listing all different scales and castings. Is that not the case? Should all the different scales listed on that page also be split off? Thanks for helping me understand how this wikia should be structured! Tonyruscoe (talk) 21:30, September 15, 2015 (UTC)

Yes, I would assume the different scales should be split off, since the article should be referring to only the 2011 casting. This is a test 86 (talk) 04:56, September 16, 2015 (UTC)

Undoing Edits Made By Administrators

Just a head's up, but you shouldn't be undoing edits made by Administrators. Especially after what I said about the edit I made in the first place, and that it was valid. I'm talking about the "candidate for deletion" tag on the Hot Wheels Station Wagons page. Do NOT replace the deletion notice because the page does not need to be deleted or have it's name changed, there is a place for it here on the Hot Wheels Wiki. When a deletion notice is removed by an Administrator, such as me, you shouldn't try to second guess the Administrator. Kenny HaarFager (talk) 16:19, September 19, 2015 (UTC)

For the sake of discussion, why is the page necessary? Why can't station wagon castings be just category tagged as a "station wagon"? I feel this sets a very dangerous precedent of people starting random pages for "Hot Wheels Sedans", "Hot Wheels Pickups", "Hot Wheels Convertibles", "Hot Wheels Yellow Cars", et cetera. Would not a category page be more sufficient for groups of castings like these? I feel all the pertinent information regarding station wagons can be derived by a combination of a category and individual casting pages. I'm just not understanding what the purpose is when http://hotwheels.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Station_Wagons exists. This is a test 86 (talk) 19:19, September 20, 2015 (UTC)
I don't see why we need a separate page for station wagons either... ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) 01:47, September 21, 2015 (UTC)
How old are the both of you? Kenny HaarFager (talk) 23:07, September 22, 2015 (UTC)
I'm not sure what that has to do with station wagons, but I'm an adult. This is a test 86 (talk) 23:48, September 22, 2015 (UTC)
That's not the answer I was looking for. The reason why it's relevent is to find out if you grew up in the station wagon era or are a lot younger than that. Youngsters today don't even have a clue about what station wagons meant. I strongly think you fall into that category. And since I was 7 years old when Hot Wheels came out in 1968 AND my family had a station wagon AND Hot Wheels are little cars AND I was strongly into cars even at that young age, it's hard to explain that type of person to you if you are under 40. There is a need for pages like the station wagon page because it's about us, the fans of cars and Hot Wheels. There's a page for vans and Ferrari's, too. Why haven't I heard anything about those pages? Are you saying we don't need a page for Ferrari models? Kenny HaarFager (talk) 00:03, September 23, 2015 (UTC)
Just because you don't like the station wagon page or want it around, I do. If you don't like it, you don't have to look at it. But, for those that do want to look at it, it exists as another database to search. Kenny HaarFager (talk) 00:11, September 23, 2015 (UTC)
And besides, Hot Wheels are about the cars. It's better to see the actual vehicles than to have a plain group of names such as a category page would be. I want to see the cars, not read their names. Kenny HaarFager (talk) 00:17, September 23, 2015 (UTC)
Good point. I love Station Wagons and I see now why you want the page. I don't mind it. I just came across it on accident and thought it strange to be the only page like that. ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) 00:21, September 23, 2015 (UTC)
I never said I didn't like station wagons. The '66 GTO Wagon and '71 Datsun 510 Wagon are two of my favorites. I just feel that it is better suited to be under the category page. Wouldn't you be able to merge all the info to the existing one? I just think that this sets a precedent for practically any grouping to have a page now. This is a test 86 (talk) 00:31, September 23, 2015 (UTC)
And what's wrong with any grouping? Pages are what wikis are all about. The more potential information we can have is only better. I note that you still didn't include your age. I'm 54 years old and am a first-generation Hot Wheels fan. Kenny HaarFager (talk) 00:45, September 23, 2015 (UTC)

'10 Shelby

Hi...apparently we don't understand each other. I added the 2016 version to the correct page and you came in and marked it for deletion saying it was the same as another Shelby. I moved the 2016 model over to that page and added a redirect to the page you marked for deletion. You then came and said it is not the same casting? I'm confused. ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) (3,573 + ᵉᵈ'ᵗˢ!) 16:56, October 3, 2015 (UTC)

Ok...let's clear some things up.
1. There are two different castings, the '10 Ford Shelby GT500 which was released in the 2010 New Models and the '10 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake which was released in the 2011 New Models. They are different.
2. There is no '10 Ford Shelby GT500 or '10 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake in the 2016 lineup based on current information.
3. You added both 2015 releases of the '10 Ford Shelby GT500 to the '10 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake page. I deleted them because that is not the right casting.
4. The '10 Ford Shelby GT500 page already has the first 2015 release listed, the white K&N model. The Zamac listing hasn't been added yet.
5. I marked Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake for deletion because the actual name is '10 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake. It has never been released without the "'10" in its name. This is a test 86 (talk) 21:59, October 3, 2015 (UTC)
Ok. I get it. I will look at a picture of the model and look at the name and search for it here...sometimes I will check the 2016 casting page to be sure I have the correct casting. I have no idea how this got all messed up. Sorry for any inconvenience. ᵗʰᵉʰºᵗʷʰᵉᵉˡˢᵍᵘʸ₉₉ (ᵗᵃˡᵏ!) (ͨºⁿᵗʳ'ᵇˢ) n it's (3,573 + ᵉᵈ'ᵗˢ!) 01:34, October 4, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for warning, if you want banned me no problem, i already deleted some fancruft or stupid specifications and fancruft descriptions. give me reason why you hate unlicensed things? actually I like less unlicensed models than Licensed. i hope you not edits some JDM models in here with you annoying facts or opinions. i'm a good man who help they opinions. also i'm sick with your annoying. also is your favorite hot wheels models is Shadow MKIIA? if not don't bother it. Billyagus97 (Talk)-17:24, November 19, 2016 (UTC).

Let's get some things straight. The Shadow MK IIa is a real car. The Shadow MK IIa is licensed under permission by S-MARQ Services. The legal fine print of the packaging shows this quite clearly. Whatever you say about this car being in some video game has NO bearing on whether this car is licensed/unlicensed. Do you understand?
Excuse me? I have never added anything with "annoying facts" or "opinions". All my edits are based on straight, hard facts. There are no place for opinions within articles. What makes you think I don't like unlicensed cars? Just because I keep on deleting that category from the Shadow? I'm only doing that because it is CORRECT. This is a test 86 (talk) 13:19, November 19, 2016 (UTC)
so that's why you still annoying, well then and who put real life size way 2 fast? i'm curious is you, and than should be that game(hot wheels beat that!) got copyrighted, by put licensed models, everything going wrong with hot wheels now, okay I understand now, also but still you are now annoying. also montezooma is licensed not unlicensed okay, is clearly monte carlo without roof. also i already deleted some Arrow1 fancruft and vandalism, actually i hate that guy, who always mispelling descriptions on JDM cars, likes furiosity he says looks alike lancer evolutions 2008. this wikia little bit sucks. Billyagus97 (Talk)-19:34, November 19, 2016 (UTC).
What are you talking about? I didn't do anything with the Way 2 Fast in regards to licensed/unlicensed. But since you brought it up, I'm changing Way 2 Fast back to unlicensed. Arrow1 added a picture of a car that looks similar to the Way 2 Fast. That doesn't mean that Way 2 Fast is licensed. Look at the back of its packaging. It does not have ANY licensing information, meaning it is NOT a licensed car.
Montezooma is LICENSED. It has GM trademarks on the bottom of the car. Are you asking why Montezooma is licensed and unlicensed? It's because YOU CHANGED IT to unlicensed on 10/07/15 after I changed it to LICENSED on 10/04/15. This is a test 86 (talk) 06:20, November 20, 2016 (UTC)

2016 and 2017 Store Exclusives

Hi, since Store Exclusive models are not part of the mainline they should not appear on those lists. Mainline models are "everywhere" available and Store Exclusives not. It would be best to create a different page for that "series". Perhaps you could link to that page from the Lists. Stephan3321 (talk) 12:24, December 3, 2016 (UTC)

I beg to differ. These store exclusives are mainlines. They come in mainline assortments, have the same mainline UPCs, cost the same as mainlines, and come in the mainline factory set. This is a test 86 (talk) 19:16, December 3, 2016 (UTC)
But they are only available in America and not in the rest of the world... So, not really mainline but American store exclusives. Stephan3321 (talk) 21:44, December 3, 2016 (UTC)
The distribution of the cars does not really change the fact that they are mainlines. Are 2013-2016 Zamacs not considered mainlines? Is every single Kmart exclusive not a mainline? No, they are all mainlines regardless if they are restricted to one chain of stores or available worldwide. If these exclusives share the same UPC barcode as non-exclusives, how can one be a mainline and the other not be? This is a test 86 (talk) 16:06, December 4, 2016 (UTC)
Also, southtexasdiecast and hobbydb both classify them as mainlines. This is a test 86 (talk) 16:08, December 4, 2016 (UTC)
BigBadBrad01, I would like to know what your opinion is about this subject. Stephan3321 (talk) 18:25, December 4, 2016 (UTC)
They are mainlines (or what Hot Wheels refer to as "basics" internally). They come in the same cases. BigBadBrad01 (talk) 19:08, December 5, 2016 (UTC)
In that case, I stand corrected :) Thanks for clearing that! Stephan3321 (talk) 22:26, December 5, 2016 (UTC)

Canadian Cars

Hello/Bonjour,

Regarding your changes, my category for American cars only covers models made in the US if said model is assembled in the US and Canada, but the Lumina for the generation of Lumina depicted was only assembled at the Oshawa factory in Ontario. Now, you can do research on this and as adults I trust we can both seek out the information for our points in a respectful manner. I can see why you placed the lumina in the American category, but only the first and last generations of Lumina were assembled outside Canada. The Z34 version used by NASCAR in the 1990s was assembled in Oshawa, as were all subsequent models until the final generation, which was Assembled by GM Holden in South Australia and exported back to North America. The category for American cars only applies for cars assembled solely in the US, or both Canada and the US, but as information can be difficult to come across on which specific variations were made where can be difficult and E-mailing car companies to get the specific information as a High-school student can be frustrating and fruitless, I will create a category for cars assembled on both sides of the border, but that's for another day. --JDM My Ride (talk) 00:30, May 4, 2017 (UTC) 二千十七年五月三日星期三'

You're doing it again. We don't need random categories for where cars are assembled. It's barely pertinent to Hot Wheels itself. You are confusing Hot Wheels with real cars. The Lumina is a Chevy, and one produced for the American market, therefore an American car. This is a test 86 (talk) 03:32, May 4, 2017 (UTC)
I see what you're saying as a contradiction. If the categories for the nationality of car is irrelevant, then why did you post the Lumina Stocker in the category for American cars if it's irrelevant where the car is from? Also, If a car intended for the American market classifies as an American car, then cars like the Honda Civic Si (2006) and the Custom '01 Acura Integra GSR are American, because they are US-spec models, even though the cars are actually Japanese vehicles. Just because a car is intended for the US market, doesn't make it American.
Also, if the categories for the country of origin was irrelevant @User:Stephan3321 would not have given me permission to create the category for American cars in the first place when I asked him if it was acceptable. Also, I will place the Lumina back in the category for Canadian cars.
My edits are not vandalism and User:Stephan3321, who is an Admin as well as you has not told me my categorizing practices are irrelevant or in violation of any rules or guidelines. As a collector, I collect based off the country of origin the car comes from. There are collectors out there who only collect cars from Japan or the US, everyone has their own style of collecting, some only go for muscle cars, others only go for trucks, some just collect everything and anything.
To quote Hot Wheels Wiki:Administrators :
Administrator powers should be used to help keep the wiki clear of vandalism, spam, and users who make malicious edits, but not for simple disagreements between users acting in good faith. Ideally an admin shouldn't be considered "in charge". The ideal admin is just someone who is trusted to have a few extra buttons and to use them for the benefit of the Wikia community.

--JDM My Ride (talk) 14:39, May 4, 2017 (UTC) 二千十七年五四日星期四
Let's straighten some things out. First and foremost, the Lumina Stocker is a stock car version that would never have rolled off a Canadian assembly line or any other to be exact. This would have been hand built. Second, the Chevy Lumina is a car made by an American company made in Canada to be sold in the US. Therefore it is an American car. A car made in Japan and sold in the US is still a Japanese car. A car made in the US by a Japanese company and sold in the US is still a Japanese car. The Lumina is an American car by virtue of it being made by an American company for sale in the US. Third, one does need permission from anyone to create categories. This is a test 86 (talk) 22:57, May 4, 2017 (UTC)
All you have to ask is "Where was the Lumina designed/engineered?" The answer is US. It sure didn't happen in Canada. This is a test 86 (talk) 23:09, May 4, 2017 (UTC)
If we are going to debate design and engineering, then the Volkswagen Golf GTI counts as Italian, because the styling was done by Ital Design in Italy, Pinnanferrina did the design for the French Peugeot 205, but even though the design was done by the Italians, it's a French car. Another example, the Delorean, which was again, Italian designed and engineered, but made in Northern Ireland. Also, the Lumina was not Exclusive to the US, there are still a few on the roads here in Canada. Also, the 1974 Brazilian Dodge Charger was engineered in the US, but due to Brazilian law, assembled there and in the casting name itself, the car is Brazilian. Same logic goes for the Chevrolet SS, desigjne dby Opel, but again, Brazilian built.
--JDM My Ride (talk) 23:31, May 4, 2017 (UTC)二千十七年五四月日星期四
You're confusing nationality with place of manufacture. There are 3 possible categories: (1) cars by nationality, (2) cars by intended market, (3) cars by place of manufacture. You're trying to claim the Chevy Lumina is Canadian by way of (1) when it is Canadian by way of (3). Keep in mind a car can have different places for all three categories. The nationality is going to be determined by where the parent company is. For example, the '10 Toyota Tundra is a Japanese car for USDM made in America. The Chevy Lumina is an American car for USDM made in Canada. The '06 Honda Civic Si is a Japanese car for USDM made in Japan.

The Lumina is not Exclusive to the USDM though. I have seen Luminas, all of them from the 1990s and I live in the Canadian Midwest. The car was not solely made in the US, you are using the market to claim it as an American car. The Lumina was manufactured in Canada for Both Canadian and US sales. Again, if the you're counting the parent company's origin as the origin of all subsequent models, the Chevrolet SS counts as American, even though it was only made in Brazil. The Lumina was sold in both the US and Canada (Category 2) and was made in Canada (Category 3) Though made by the American brand, Chevrolet, but Chevrolet being American, doesn't make it's Chevrolet SS American.

Licensing on certain images

Hi again. You seem like the person who seems to be most itchy about watermarks and licensing and I have an inkling that if I put up a certain image (I didn't get it from the internet) on the page for the casting Audacious. The image Is a CGI graphic I got from the back of the Night Burnerz 5-Pack. Please tell me posting that is not in violation of Mattel's copyright rules, because that image looks good and I think would be a worthy addition to the page for the casting. --JDM My Ride (talk) 14:10, May 7, 2017 (UTC) 二千十七年五月七日星期日

If you took the picture yourself it should be fine. This is a test 86 (talk) 17:36, May 7, 2017 (UTC)

I didn't use a camera, I used the scanner part of a printer/copier. --JDM My Ride (talk) 19:00, May 7, 2017 (UTC) 二千十七年五月七日星期日

Category names

I do not agree with your assessment that use of slang, such as TunerZ, is innappropriate. The names of categories should be recognizable to the fans. Since Australiancarlover appears to be a fan of the TunerZ series, I see no logical reason for this ban. Please help me understand how this is not just one administrator dictating their own views into how others should be allowed to organize the wiki? Patty's Hot Wheels (talk) 15:46, June 10, 2017 (UTC)

It's simple. The word "Tunerz" in relation to Hot Wheels, only refers to a specific series of exaggerated cars from 2002. Using the word "Tunerz" to describe mainline castings is incorrect since Mattel has NEVER referred to them as such. It is not a term that anyone uses to refer to anything as well as it not even being a real word. If you want to categorize something like "Brit Tunerz" make it into "British-styled modified castings" or something of that sort. This is a test 86 (talk) 02:32, June 11, 2017 (UTC)
My apologies for still not understanding, because frankly, your argument makes no sense. Firstly, a quick internet search on TunerZ refutes your contention that it is a term, that
not a term that anyone uses to refer to anything as well as it not even being a real word.~This is a test 86 (talk) 02:32, June 11, 2017 (UTC)

A quick google search for the term "TunerZ" does not show anything relevant to mainlines. This is a test 86 (talk) 19:22, June 11, 2017 (UTC)

This ban on using slang sounds made up and personal to me. Especially considering there is nothing in the rules about it. And the way you are trying to act and sound all official about it, seems familiar and scary. If there were some REAL administrators around here, that kind of behavior would NOT be tolerated and YOU sir would be banned, because I side with Australiancarlover, in that you undoing his work, is tantamount to you declaring his work vandalism, most especially when you undo edits without first discussing. And that sounds a little dictatorial. It's amazing how fast being handed a little power corrupts the soul. Patty's Hot Wheels (talk) 13:49, June 11, 2017 (UTC)

In regards to Mattel products the word "Tunerz" only refers to a specific series of exaggerated, non-mainline cars made in 2002. Anything else you guys are referring to has nothing to do with mainlines. "Tuners" is a word. "TunerZ"? What is that? Seriously? What next? Do you all want to describe a hot dog car category using slang as well? Once you set a precedent for something like this you'll have to accept every ridiculous sounding category as well. This is a test 86 (talk) 19:09, June 11, 2017 (UTC)

I myself second that. There is nothing in the Editing Rules and Guidelines about the use of terms used on Hot Wheels products to give the wikia a more fandom-esque feel. Hot Wheels Wiki: Administrators Quote "Administrator powers should be used to help keep the wiki clear of vandalism, spam, and users who make malicious edits, but not for simple disagreements between users acting in good faith. Ideally an admin shouldn't be considered "in charge". The ideal admin is just someone who is trusted to have a few extra buttons and to use them for the benefit of the Wikia community."

Furthermore, if a rule doesn't exist in the Editing Rules and Guidelines, it isn't a rule and cannot be enforced. Also, these edits were in Good Faith and not vandalism so therefore this is a case of Abuse of the Admin Abilities. Thank you for your time and I sincerely hope we can resolve this manner in a peaceful and polite manner.

二千十七年六月十日星期六--JDM My Ride (talk) 18:29, June 10, 2017 (UTC)

This wikia should emulate the Matchbox wikia in terms of style and feel. They don't use ANY slang terminology for categories. This is a test 86 (talk) 02:42, June 11, 2017 (UTC)

Patty's Hot Wheels i agree with you man, why slang is vandalism too? this wikia now screwed since This is a test 86 become admin. well unlike unofficials hot wheels wikia feel free your edits and only little bit rule we have, no racist, no bullies, no porn, no bigotry and no buy/no sell or give some links of online shop. even unofficials hot wheels wikia allowed you to put your own descriptions of hot wheels castings. if you want join the unofficials one, PM me. and i feel sorry for australiancarlover. but i respect what your edits. Patty's Hot Wheels and australiancarlover you should become admin. Billyagus97 (talk) -02.57 AM, June 11, 2017 (UTC).

I'm not even sure what you're talking about. This is a test 86 (talk) 02:42, June 11, 2017 (UTC)
I just talking about rule on this wikia, why slang not allowed? this wikia really very very screwed, well you can block me, because i'm no longer active at this wikia. because some people does not believe with this wikia anymore. Well join this conversations make LOL. should be this wikia have one more rule, is don't make joke or meme. LOL.
Billyagus97 (talk) 06:11 PM, June 11, 2017 (UTC).
Please do not vandalize my talk page like you did on 19:58, June 10, 2017‎. This is a test 86 (talk) 19:24, June 11, 2017 (UTC)

I Feel that because this is a by-in-large fan-made site and not the work of Mattel themselves, what need is there for a ban on Slang? This isn't the world of big business on this site, just a fan-made Database and community for the one thing we all love on this site; Hot Wheels. Like User:Patty's Hot Wheels said, the ban seems personal and Made up. A rule that does not exist cannot be enforced. I used the name "Brit Tunerz" because you told me "Cars with JDM Modifications" was too long for a category name. The name "British-Styled Modified Castings" is a bit long and wordy and :"Brit Tunerz" is short and to a hot wheels fan like pretty much everyone else on this site is easily recognizable as British-styled modified cars. --JDM My Ride (talk) 15:32, June 11, 2017 (UTC) 二千十七年六月十一日星期日

I never said anything about category names being too long or anything of that sort. If a category name is long, what difference does it make? The only place categories show up are at the bottom of the page. These category names are not used in the main body of text. It's better to be formal than informal. For example: Why name a category "Hot Hatchbacks" when it can be simply named "Hatchbacks"? This is a test 86 (talk) 19:22, June 11, 2017 (UTC)
If a poll is being taken, I side with those who think TunerZ is an appropriate category name.

WikiWoman62 (talk) 16:10, June 11, 2017 (UTC)

It's quite simple why I used 'Hot Hatchbacks' rather than the flat-out 'hatchbacks' name for a category, this is Hot Wheels Wikia, root words 'Hot Wheels' and to give the wikia a more fandom-esque feel rather than it feel like some database I use like a school textbook; as a reference. This wikia is not some business enterprise so fans can use more Hot Wheels-style terms, providing fans can recognize what the category is for then there really is no issue. Names like 'Hot Hatchbacks' don't make it any less discernable that the category is for Hatchbacks.

Quick Technical Question

Hello/Bonjour. I found an article a few days ago and in the description for the Custom Datsun 240Z I pasted the link to it to save space and give people interested in the real car the casting depicts something to read as a way of not having to write all that info into the description. Now, this article claims that the FuguZ (Custom Datsun 240Z's other name) has JDM mirrors, but with just the mirrors, does that make it a car with JDM Modifications or no? The bodykit made by GReddy for the car was made in Kyoto, but that doesn't really mean much. I just want a second opinion on this before I make a Final decision. --JDM My Ride (talk) 13:31, June 17, 2017 (UTC) 二千十七年六月十七日星期六

Unnecessary categories for Tampos

Hello Again, I've noticed User:Julthep has created a plethora of categories for the Tampos themed around various auto parts companies, such as Greddy, T Tein, etc. Is that really necessary? I mean, those castings normally only have one or two releases with said Tampo theme on them anyways. --JDM My Ride (talk) 01:58, August 2, 2017 (UTC)二千十七年八月一日星期二

Good evening This_is_a_test_86. At no point did I intend to enter false (fake) information. I have been as vigilant and as judicious as possible. I tried to undo the editions you pointed out. I'm sorry, I'll be more alert yet. Although I saw no error in what I did. I fully respect the administrators and observers of this community. I've read lots of articles and reports from other contributors about behavior within the community.

One color per issue on list pages

See 1992 list comments from admin in history last summer. So I moved them to the Mystery Cars page. Which other All Stars could be on the 2007 List page? 2008? Having the year all over the place is a bit redundant, no? Now all the links I set to the section List_of_2007_Hot_Wheels#All_Stars won't work right cause you changed the title of the section. Mach 5 (talk) 16:38, August 17, 2018 (UTC)

I don't think the 1992 list applies to anything 2004 to present (the recolor era). Each specific recolor from 2004 to the present is considered a separate release by Mattel and each one has distinct toy numbers. Even the toys numbers that are the same are differentiated by case code. Anyways, HaarFager is wrong about a lot of things. Dude hasn't posted in 4 months. This is a test 86 (talk) 22:53, August 17, 2018 (UTC)

Active Admin Needed

User David Marconi deserves a time out, don't you think? Review his talk page and you will see way too many mistakes and ignoring advice from other active users with much longer editing history than he. He adds categories without first checking to see if the category is already there in a slightly different name nor is he creating the category pages for these created categories. I've tried to catch as many of these mistakes as I could but he goes on sprees, sometimes burying the additions in multiple rapid edits and saves. Mach 5 (talk) 21:14, October 1, 2018 (UTC)

Hello,

I hope this is going to right page for you (mach 5) as this was the link provided (?)

First off, I am glad that edits are being reviewed for accuracy, but your explanation for undoing them is a bit unclear to me for the second edit I made.

I didnt reference my date year code list for the '66 GTO Wagon and I was thrown off by the card back information from the 2011 A case distribution..Sorry for the mistake.

You also noted though that I was incorrect in changing the casting number total from 214 to 240, but that edit was not changed although you say it is incorrect.  Your explanation for the intenational numbering system makes sense, but was not noted as such before I changed it.  The editing guidelines say they should be uniform to format and I havent checked every listing page but most of them use the US distribrition number total and not the international total.  Although personally I think they should have both. Especially, if the number differs as they do for many (Hot Wheels) and Matchbox castings.[1]

Photography Questions

Photography Questions

I'm not sure if you are the right person to inquire about this, but it seems that there is not a general consensus on the angles for the casting pages. When I started taking photos of my collection, I didn't really pay attention to the direction the car was facing, tried to get a front/side shot, and a rear/side shot. Then I tried to get a front right shot with the direction of the car similar to the cover art, so that the front passenger side was the part showing for a front/side shot. However, some casting pages have the casting photos from the other way, so I've tried to capture shots showing both ways.

Is there a way that we should try to capture photographs to make it consistent across the Wiki? I know it will be hard as some castings might not be easy to get photos we want.

I also have been replacing Mattel photos I see in the Wiki with my photos if I have ones of that casting.

Thanks!

Hello, I found the following error in the wiki.  I am still learning how to edit the wiki, so I wanted to let you know about this rather than try to edit myself before I am more comfortable with the edits.  Awesome Wiki...thank you so much!!!

proposal for a new page

Please read my blogpost, I'm trying to make a case for a list of all casting, not a list of versions.

https://hotwheels.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Tankpanzer/proposed_list_of_all_castings

Let me know what you think.

Go for it. Let me know what you want to call the page.i may have some suggestions. This is a test 86 (talk) 14:09, November 18, 2019 (UTC)
That sounds great. It wiil take some time, but is worth it!  Nezz79 (talk) 14:50, November 18, 2019 (UTC)
Big project. I support it but please don't leave it half-way done (like I've done with the Super Rigs pages!-hard to complete and follow-up when I don't collect Super Rigs...).
Some things to consider:
1-I'd divide the tables by year;
2-I'd include the very important and fun to follow retools (would this be on separate lines or columns?). There's a good retool list published somewhere. I can find it. Or it could be just a mention that it was retooled in year___.
3- Some casting names have changed. Are you going to call the same casting different names on the same table, or add the new name to the same casting in subsequent year? (either way is OK).
4-I'd prefer always the photo of the very first version, so everyone knows there are no versions (recolors, retools, renames, etc) before that one. For good reference, everyone will always know that that photo was the very first car, in that livery.
I'd like a casting-centric list. When it's about 80%-ish done, I'd probably start contributing and filling blanks here and there.1steditionman (talk) 21:21, November 18, 2019 (UTC)

But I'm not sure about the columns, I definetly want some columns that will tell something about the casting: is it a fantasy casting, is it unlicensed but clearly inspired by a real car, licensed but customized, licensed and stock... and so on. The problem is that there is a lot of room for interpretation, and arguments.I will start by doing it for a year, then we can debate and see where it takes us.Tankpanzer (talk) 03:47, November 19, 2019 (UTC)

I created this Draft, everything is subject to change: https://hotwheels.fandom.com/wiki/2016_Castings

The emojis are just an easy way to get some kind of icons, they are not going to stay.

Each casting is special in a way, it is difficult to find categories that are proper for all it's content and also have enough items. For example The Beatles yellow submarine, what category should it be in? And if we find such a category, what other castings would be in there?

My solution is to use badges for each casting, badges for having a mainline version, premium version,TH version, $TH version, and so on. Imagine you are interested in collecting ZAMAC cars, you just browse the list and look for the right badge. Imagine you want to collect cars  that were in movies, but are also real, then just look for the tight combination of badges: real and pop reference.

I hope you are all going to appreciate my pick for fantasy and belivable fantasy casting.

Your input is grately appreciated. Tankpanzer (talk) 05:23, November 19, 2019 (UTC)

Guys Can i do the HW Monster Jam Cars that don't got pages yet? theres alot them. Some AT-AT (talk) 05:34, November 19, 2019 (UTC)

RSW Wheel Page

George Kickburn from Fandom Support has recommended that I contact you in regard to this matter and ask for you assistance.

I recently found an information omission/error on the RSW wheel page and updated it with more accurate information and noted that the  image shown is a different wheel design used on only 3 castings from the series noted.

This information was then edited by https://hotwheels.fandom.com/wiki/User_talk:Grunty89 and put back essentially the way it was previously -which is not accurate.  My new updated details were then deleted from the section where they belong based on the image shown there.  And the new reference to the 2020 Corvette Stingray that prompted this update - which he did leave - is now also an incorrect entry and misleading as well to the wheel image that is shown there.    His reasoning was that my update didnt look good to him at first, then that no one was going to read it anyway - as it was just a wall of words and then 3rd that no one would even care about the update, I had made.

I have asked him to replace the information I provided as it more accurately represents what Mattel produced and Hot Wheels distibuted in regard to this wheel design.  But he refuses.  He has also now apparently deleted (or moved) our converstaion about this from his talk page.  (As here, I have not been able to find a prompt or function to create a new numbered entry in the talk section.  So I have entered a new subject/headline, but it still appears to be only creating an edit to your first talk topic # entry.)

I dont believe that Fandom wants their site ro reflect inaccurate information and is designed to welcome input from others to update it with accurate information.  I also dont believe they truly want others to arbritarily delete that accurate information update because they themselves dont like the way it looks and their own subjective feelings.

Do I need to republish the edits myself or can they be reinstated to correct his inappropriate deletion of them and fix the again inaccurate revisions he has left behind?

Let me look into this. Thanks. This is a test 86 (talk) 05:52, January 11, 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for addressing this.  I notice you reinstated my entry and improved the wording.  Appreciate the followup. Milton Fox Racing (talk) 10:17, January 11, 2020 (UTC)

You probably received the same message already but I wanted to let you know that grunty89 has again deleted from his talk page - my last response to him asking him to reinstate the RSW information I posted.  It doesnt though look like he has changed the last edit you made at the RSW page since then (yet!)  Milton Fox Racing (talk) 11:56, January 12, 2020 (UTC)

I stand corrected.  He has indeed edited your entry.  I like the information layout with the description history above the wheel images.  But his edit still needs improvement regarding the small and medium size 'lug' orientation to the spokes or a refeernce to the gold chrome wheel image.to be most accurate.  Perhaps an inserted new row for the chrome small and medium sizes and design pattern or a note in the gold wheel row that it also primarily came in a chrome version.  I cant really see (or can find) which castings from the noted series used the gold wheel version so far.  Milton Fox Racing (talk) 12:07, January 12, 2020 (UTC)

Images Categories

Do you mind that I create categories for images? I thought this will help users find images on this wiki easily. Combatbot2015 (talk) 01:01, January 15, 2020 (UTC)

Hey. I think we could implement that in the future. At the moment, I think the current state of regular categories on pages has gotten out of hand. It seems like 95% of edits are people making up categories. I really think we need to delete a whole bunch of them. Like I currently disagree with people making categories for every single series. That's totally unnecessary since we have pages for those series. It's redundant. Let me know what you think. This is a test 86 (talk) 22:38, January 16, 2020 (UTC)

Okay then. go ahead and delete them if you want. Combatbot2015 (talk) 02:06, January 17, 2020 (UTC)

For something that drastic, I need to create some game plan to explain what I'm doing. Some of the categories are legit, but others are redundant. If you want to do categories for pics, I highly suggest that they do not share the same categories as pages, like they would be called "Pictures: Honda", etc. instead of just lumping them into "Honda". I don't know. I haven't really thought it through. This is a test 86 (talk) 06:16, January 17, 2020 (UTC)

Hot Wheels Convention Mexico Versions

Does the castings from the various Hot Wheels Mexico Conventions real or fake? If so, should I remove them? Combatbot2015 (talk) 00:18, March 5, 2020 (UTC)

They're all customs, except for the single casting that Mattel provides directly for the Mexico convention. Remove all the customs when you see them. This is a test 86 (talk) 00:24, March 5, 2020 (UTC)
The real ones in recent history: Kool Kombi (2019), Volkswagen Beetle (2018), Datsun Bluebird 510 Wagon (2017), '66 Batmobile (2016), Ecto-1 (2015), Texas Drive 'Em (2014), etc. This is a test 86 (talk) 00:29, March 5, 2020 (UTC)

Okay then, thank you for listing the real versions, I'll remove the custom versions not listed from the real list as soon as I can. Combatbot2015 (talk) 00:33, March 5, 2020 (UTC)

Hi. Can we have a Hot Wheels like this.?
Ford Transit Custom GT

Disgusting image!

a user in the name "sheenestevezz" posted a disgusting image! can you banned that dude and delete that pic? Some AT-AT (talk) 18:50, March 16, 2020 (UTC)

How can we help?

Hi, I'm Tim, one of the Fandom staff team. We've been looking at some of the wikis that are currently categorised as "Lifestyle". We would like to move away from lumping together so many varied wikis, and give them a more accurate category.  In your case, we have classified this wiki as "Collectibles".

The hope is that with wikis grouped into smaller more focused groups, we can give better and more personalised support. For example, we can give help with wiki design, advice on search engine optimization, and generally just be around for any questions and other needs you have.

We have a short survey that will help us understand what your needs are, and where we can best focus to help you keep building your wiki. I hope you'll participate and let us know what you need.

I'll be your primary contact, with the rest of the Exploration and Innovation Team ready to jump in and help where we can. I look forward to working with you! And if you have any questions, please let me know! --TimmyQuivy@fandom (help forum | blog) 19:57, April 14, 2020 (UTC)

Hello, I made a page on the Wiki named
European cardboard packaging: Back Card

and I dont undersatand the meaning of the inscription Pp-T at the top of the cards.
Can you help me.
thank you
Excuse me for my english but i'm french and i work with google traduc
I renamed it "International short card". What's the point for your entries? All these international standards are not Hot Wheels-specific. If you want this page, you need to put both the front and back of the card on the same page. And you need to do a better job with formatting the page. This is a test 86 (talk) 21:43, April 18, 2020 (UTC)

Hi! I just added a photo on the Flying Customs Skyline from Mix 1 of 2020, but i couldn´t figure out how to properly paste the photo so it looks uniform. Could you help me out?

McDonald's Versions from Mattel Versions

So, should we create a separate page of the McDonald's castings from the Mattel releases or should we create a new sub-section for the Mattel versions? Combatbot2015 (talk) 03:21, May 1, 2020 (UTC)

I'm conflicted about this. In my opinion, I don't even consider them Hot Wheels. But since they have Hot Wheels branding, I guess they can be on the wikia. They should have their own pages. Because the casting pages are for specific castings, and McDonald's castings are completely different tools than their actual counterparts. Cars aren't even the same size. I saw that you've deleted some McDonald's entries from casting releases. Thanks. Please delete if you see more. The only McDonald's versions that should be listed in regular casting pages are the ones actually made by Mattel, i.e. the early 90s and before. This is a test 86 (talk) 15:18, May 1, 2020 (UTC)

Okay then. I'll make separate pages as soon as I can. Combatbot2015 (talk) 16:40, May 1, 2020 (UTC)

On the casting disambiguation pages, like Ambulance, I would not give the Mcdonald's version equal importance as the other two Mattel-created ones. It is a lesser version that has minimal relation to HW and Mattel. This is a test 86 (talk) 00:20, May 7, 2020 (UTC)

User Carmaster33

Can you please block user Carmaster33 for doing vandalism on the Blast Lane page a few years ago that I have reverted? Please delete the video as well. Thanks. Combatbot2015 (talk) 04:11, May 1, 2020 (UTC)

Done. This is a test 86 (talk) 15:18, May 1, 2020 (UTC)

Thanks. Combatbot2015 (talk) 16:40, May 1, 2020 (UTC)

"International short card"Hello
Thank you for your help. It is a good idea to group both sides of the card on the same page.
I am in France and we do not have the same cards as you in the United States.
The purpose of this page is to understand what is indicated on the European card. (short card)
Although most logos are used on other packaging, some are specific to Mattel. To identify them I assure you that I had to search for a long time.
I thought to myself that this might interest other collectors.
Regarding the layout, I agree it is not very professional. But the grip of the tool is not obvious.
I will do my best to improve this.
I would not be angry if one of you improved my English, for now I use my friend Google translate.

have a nice day.

Raths Garage

I find it interesting that the logo 'the Gulf compliance mark' appears in 2017. the logo 'Ukraine Conformity Certification' appears in 2019.

This gives an idea of Mattel's export policy.

There are still unresolved issues on the cards. I think these are questions that a collector must ask himself.

Why cards in europe don't have a code from 2012 to 2016

a J code in 2017 and 2018

an A code in 2019

an A21 code in 2020

I find it interesting that the logo 'the Gulf compliance mark' appears in 2017. That that of 'Ukraine Conformity Certification' appears in 2019.

I'm still looking for the acronym: Pp-T.

have a good day

Premium Collector Sets

Should the sets have separate pages or put them all in one page? Combatbot2015 (talk) 17:29, May 19, 2020 (UTC)

One page for all the sets, but also individual pages for each box set. The individual pages can have the more detailed car listings. This is a test 86 (talk) 13:34, May 20, 2020 (UTC)

Okay then. Combatbot2015 (talk) 17:10, May 20, 2020 (UTC)

Retooled Castings

Should the retooled versions of various castings receive their own page, or put them in the original tool page? Since you have created a sepearate page of the retooled version of the '69 Chevy Pickup earlier. Combatbot2015 (talk) 00:08, May 23, 2020 (UTC)

Only on a case-by-case basis. This new '69 Chevy is such a radical retool from the previous version. See this:
