The Volkswagen Beetle, officially the Type 1, was a two-door rear-engined economy car designed by Ferdinand Porsche and manufactured from 1938 to 2003. The car is known by many other names and nicknames in various parts of the world, such as "Bug" in English-speaking countries, "Käfer" (lit. "beetle") in German-speaking countries and "Fusca" in some South American countries.

This casting is based on a highly-modified Beetle with a sloped contour intended for drag racing or street racing. The casting has what appears to be a engine panel which can be opened on the back; this however is riveted to the base and cannot actually be opened.
